I used it in the past, but not sure if it still works.
Maybe it requires newer versions of qt, if you show me the error I might be able to see what is missing.

Yes, then that is a limitation that you can not fulfill on this image.
Older versions of Teamviewer-Host did not require Qt 5.6.

I'd suggest using TeamViewer 12, as newer "native Linux versions" actually suck, as they do not support meeting functionality.
TeamViewer messes up their entire business system for Linux starting with TeamViewer 13.

You can use TeamViewer 13 on this image:
https://download.teamviewer.com/downloa ... _armhf.deb (requires Qt 5.2)
or TeamViewer 12:
https://download.teamviewer.com/downloa ... _armhf.deb (also Qt 5.2)

I checked on TeamViewer 14 it actually uses Qt 5.5 not 5.6, it checks for meta packges qt56-teamviewer or actual packages like libqt5gui5 in version (>= 5.5), still since only Qt 5.3 is available on Debian Jessie you can only use TeamViewer 13 and 12 here.

Hi, I am trying to run some NeoGeo rom but always I obtain the same message:
[libretro ERROR] [FBA] Couldn't locate the neogeo archive anywhere, this game probably won't boot.

My command line is: retroarch -L /usr/local/share/retroarch/cores/fbalpha_libretro.so mslug2.zip

Retroarch version: 1.7.3

Any idea? Of course that I have neogeo.zip (bios) in the same path that mslug2.zip

Thanks

well it says it can't find neogeo archive, so maybe it's searching for it at a different location.
Try starting with retroarch -vL to get a more verbose output maybe it can tell you more.

Also I suggest using fbalpha2012_neogeo_libretro.so instead.

I think it's looking for the neogeo bios (neogeo.zip).
You need to copy this file in your rom folder

I am trying to work with same img called supremeodroidv1.1b (use the @meveric base) but include attract mode installation... Uffff, it's a nightmare! It doesn't work anything!!! Wifi, audio USB, retroarch... I am thinking to start from the beginning using the base of @meveric and after that, install attract, etc...

About retroarch, I have neogeo.zip in the same path that roms, but it doesn't work. I think that this img it's a crap. hahaha.

Attract-Mode is already available in the meveric repository, it's very easy to install. I don't remember if the exact name, but it should be something like:
sudo apt-get install attract (or attract-odroid).
It's not necessary to use a different image just because of Attract Mode.

I will try it, thanks. Now I am started with the original base of @meveric. I have a hard work to configure from the beginning.

Thanks for your help.

Yes that happened very recently to be exactly on first of April 2019.
Some repositories were changed since Debian Jessie is now in LTS support only.
Here's how you can fix it:

Code: Select all

apt-get update # ignore the many errors
apt-get install setup-ogst-odroid # this will fix the errors (might also work if you just do apt-get upgrade)
After that the image should work normal again.

Yes apt-get install attract is all that is needed, although I'm still waiting for them to finally fixing the "TheGamesDB" bug where they still use the legacy API which no longer exists (they really take their sweet time with it).

Thanks @meveric, I am trying with apt-get upgrade

One suggestion... When I make the SD for first time... my SD card only had 4gb (32 gb real) so, I am just downloaded odroid-utilty to expand the FS. Why don't you run this "by default" in your image?

Regards

Cause it's not needed, as I already incorporated a similar script that is run on first boot.
(The system boots up, does a reboot and boots up again, after which you should have the full size of the SD card)
I also strongly advice against using odroid-utility as it's outdated and no longer maintained and can do serious harm in some cases to the system.

currently yes.. I use apt-get procedures to update the parts of the image which means I don't need to upload a new image every time I change a part of the image (would be a very inefficient way to update an image).

Hi there,
The june 2018 image appears to be outdated beyond repair: updates fail because of the moved repositories, editing the list files by hand impossible due to no disk space left, and 'apt-get install setup-ogst-odroid' and other apt-get tricks as mentioned here above not working due to no disk space left. Just getting more and more error messages, including new ones: parsing errors because scripts try to use empty lists that could only be created in their directories but not filled.
About to give up on this one; please put me on the right track!

It is not, it's been used by many different persons and work for them just fine.
There is currently the open issue with the Jessie LTS support, but aside from that the image works the same as it worked in 2018.

The first question should be why there is no disk space left.
The system automatically resizes the disk space to full partition size on first boot, unless you have multiple images connected to your board at the same time (eMMC and SD card at the same time won't work especially if you use and Ubuntu image or any other image based on my images in the second connector)

Flash the image anew, make sure you only have ONE storage device connected, either eMMC or SD card but not both at once.
Boot the image, wait until it reboots, exit Kodi and check the disk space again.

Then report back about that step.

I had the same problem. That's why I had to use the odroid tools to do the resize of the card.

Simply removing the eMMC card did the job! Everything running smoothly now on an XU-4. Thanks!

Lessons here:
  • remove the eMMC card when using the SD card (or the other way around), as the second card will get in the way, despite the eMMC/SDcard switch!
  • do ignore everything you can read online about ignoring the 'no disk space left' (and possibly other) error messages
  • execute 'apt-get update && apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade && apt-get autoremove' to get everything up to date; you may have to repeat some steps

I've run some of these games with box86 in x86 emulation which was working ok depending on the game.

These particular games that are listed on the RetroPie site are specifically compiled for the RPi and won't run on any other board.
Generally it would be rather easy to get the same games working on other boards, but as it's closed source you can't compile it for other boards.

But I've already run "Cook Serve Delicious", "Undertale", "Gods Will Be Watching", "Momodora Reverie Under the Moonlight", and "12 is Better Than 6" on the XU4, which are also GameMaker games but they run as I said through emulation and are not always full speed.

Ok, I want to try it with these: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/GameMaker-Games/

Maldita Castilla is a fantastic game similar to Ghosts 'n Goblins.

I have found some problems to do it:

git clone https://github.com/ptitSeb/box86
cd box86
cmake .. -DLD80BITS=1 -DNOALIGN=1; make

But I don't have cmake package... so I try it to install but...

I don't know how to fix this... I am not a Linux Expert  I think that I need to change the repositories URL but I don't know which is the good one.

box86 exists as a package in my repository:

Code: Select all

apt-get install -t jessie box86-odroid
But as I said, the games listed on the RetroPie site won't work, as they are made specifically for RPi.

I experimented a while ago with amiberry but didn't like it that much.
I prefer fs-uae over amiberry.
I can try taking another look at it. But you would have to configure it yourself as I won't abandon the comfort of fs-uae for amiberry.

No retropie can not be installed.
This image does essentially something similar than retropie, installing it on top of this image would destroy the basis of this image.
So no, it's not possible.

The keyring stores your WLAN access credentials, if you configured WLAN that is where the password is stored in.
You can remove the keyring/password by removing the files under /home/odroid/.gnome2/keyrings/
After that you have to create a new keyring and store your WLAN information again.
When the file is create for the first time it asks what password you want to use, leave it BLANK and it won't use protect your keyring with a password but instead stores the WLAN credential in plain text.
After that you don't have to enter the password again.

Instead you could also disable the auto-login feature and login to the Desktop each time, which in turn also unlocks the keyring (autologin does not unlock the keyring).

Once again, box86 is an Emulator for x86 NOT for Raspberry Pi!
You CAN NOT start the Raspberry Pi versions of this game on the ODROID.

Sorry, maybe I am not explain me very well. This game has been downloaded from gamemaker repository, it’s not an Raspberry Pi game. It’s a PC game.

well that could explain why the file is corrupted if the space is full.
Can you check with df -h what it says about disk space?

If you downloaded: https://www.yoyogames.com/download/pi/castilla
That IS the RPi version. hence the "pi" in the download link

The file date and size of your list 100% match the date and size of this RPi version. Therefore I assume you used this download link.
If you downloaded any other version please let me know cause I haven't found any other download for this game, and kinda doubt any other download exists (except for Android and iOS version).

I just wrote the image from the first page then connect to wifi, then bluetooth and that’s all. Since the beginning of the first boot Imsaw a message that said the volume file system root has only 35mb.

On the initial boot, do not use eMMC and SD card at the same time.
The resize script may fail to resize the partition the the full size.
When you first flash and boot the image, it will boot the system, do a restart and boot again.
The first restart does the resizing of the partition, but if there are multiple systems (eMMC + SD card) connected it may not be able to decide which device mmcblk0 or mmcblk1 is the correct device and try to resize the wrong device.

So please disconnect the other device and only boot the image without the other device that is not holding the OGST image (you either have to reflash the image, or have to start /root/scripts/first-boot manually as root).
After the initial setup (resizing of the partition) you can reconnect the eMMC if you want, but for the initial setup this won't work.

Ahhhh ok, sorry... Now I understand what you were trying to tell me. The version that exists to download the game, is for RaspBerry Pi. Okay. Sorry if I bothered you, really. I will investigate if there is another way to download the game.

Thank you. I did the test today and indeed it did more things removing the eMMC. At the end of the update I received:

Code: Select all

The following packages have been kept back:
  emulationstation-odroid moonlight-embedded

sudo apt-get install emulationstation-odroid

emulationstation-odroid : Depends: libcec4 but it is not going to be installed
That is important to update? Or should’ve like that? If it is important to update how do you force to update that?

About Amiga the reason I wanted to try Amiberry is for the Whload and hdf loading.Your version of image, although not with Amiberry, it can support the Whload and hdf? I want to install the new Amiga OS 3.1.4 for applications and other hdf with OS 4.1.Imkniw your image it will support regular floppy images but what about the hdf. If supports whole Whload and .hdf I don’t need to install Amiberry. In this how do you configure, if supports, your image for .hdf?

Yes emulationstation should probably be updates, you can do so with apt-get install -t jessie emulationstation-odroid
Moonlight I'm not sure.. I kinda doubt it still works.

fs-uae supports whdload as well and can boot hdf files as well, although it's not configured as a image type for emulationstation and such. But you can start it manually.
In fact you might want to take a look at fs-uae-launcher that is a tool that can scan your library with an online library and create game specific settings, as well as autostart whload fiels and such.
It's quite interesting.

I can look into Amiberry again if you're more familiar with it. It's probably nice for HD systems, but less flexible on disk or cd images.
But this might take a while.

Is there a list of games and there corresponding emulators that run good on this project? I am having a hard time trying to "google" the correct terms to try to find out what does and does not run, thanks

well since this image combines emulators for nearly 50 different systems, with potentially hundreds or even thousands of games depending on the system "a list of games that work" would be very very very very long.
So no, there is no such a list.
But on the first page is a list of supported emulators, although even more emulators are available, just not all configured. retroarch alone can use around 130 different cores (emulators) and there are several standalone emulators available as well.

you can download packs of games and run what you like. What I did is just install an image for this desktop environment and in other memory one with minimal version with retropie and in other memory Android and done. I see this emulationstation should run similar that the other ones. Emulationstation is the blood of ORA image also and ORA run a lot then I can see this will run almost everything.

yeah, I can do that, but would be nice to know that, hey, PSX games can run almost all titles and maybe a name and shame list of problematic games, same goes for other consoles. maybe that is too much to ask for and this is just a waste of time, effort and money for me. granted only interested in a few of the consoles but I really don't want to go through the games just to check to see what does and does not work, I know that has most likely been done already countless times
