[SOLVED] Warped Case and board issues.

Unread post by g00b » Fri Feb 14, 2020 7:32 pm

Hi there!

I build my odroid go advance and it has been working fine for one day.

To my surprise today I was getting screen flickering issues, then later perminate white screen if the screen was on. (To my knowledge this issue is with the screen ribbon cable connection.) Since then my L and R triggers have become stuck and unmoving in the case and I've noticed the case has become bent and doesn't latch correctly.

I have yet to take my case apart and the only actions I've taken with the device after it being built have been to remove and add the SD card to add and remove ROMs.

I'm wondering if I can get any assistance as I'm unsure how the case has gotten warped as after assembly it was in good condition.

Kind regards.

Update: since last night I have attempted to turn my Odroid Advance Go on. The screen now appears to be working find, the L button appears to be working fine and the R Button is stuck. The 128g SD card that has been inserted in the device has now corrupted itself. (Having seen the error that there was no image I tested on the computer to confirm the micro SD card has stopped working entirely.)

I'm quite confused with what's going on with my unit and still haven't opened it up as I've noticed the case has warped slightly.

Can you take a couple of pictures to understand the warped case?

I've taken photos and you'll find them at:

I'm not sure if it'll be immediately apparent how the case is warped. However the latches don't appear to be even and won't clip in completely with each other and since my last update both the L and R buttons are now no longer stuck no sure why.

I am aware the SD card issue I faced could have been the card itself. It's mostly the screen issues and stuck triggers that make me believe it could be the case but let me know what you think!

Kind regards.

I've seen you photos. But it is hard to find where is the latching issue.
There are 6 latches as described in Step #20 in the assembly instruction.

Can you tell me which latches didn't clip properly?

Hi there!

Thank you for your support! I've recently unscrewed dismantled my Odroid Go Advance and have put it back together. Since then I reattached my ribbon cable and everything appears to be working correctly and the latches have now attached evenly on all sides and my L and R buttons no longer get stuck.

I believe the issue would have been caused from my assembly and me being too cautious screwing the case in (as I've tightened them a touch more then previously) and I believe the issue with micro SD is seperate one and it could be faulty.

I very much thank you for your time and feel silly for posting initially! So again your assistance has been much welcomed and appreciated.

Kind regards
