broke the joystick adapter

Unread post by phedon » Fri Feb 14, 2020 3:37 am

As written in the title the joystick adapter broke while assembling the device. Anyone has a better solution than taping it electrical tape?
Kind regards

The tiny plastic case broke in the middle and then fell off. Now I only have the contacts on the pcb left.

edit: could someone please take a picture that shows which pin of the connector connects to which pin on the pcb? Thanks in advance.

Look at the CON4 on the schematics page 22.

Thanks a lot, meanwhile I too found this, I'll check it when I'm back home. As long as jack and cable have the same number of pins it should be relatively easy to fix. *if* it doesn't work as expected: I would have to buy a new mainboard or is this tiny plastic jack available as replacement piece somewhere? Would be pretty annoying if I had to spend another 40€ just because a piece of plastic broke you know?
Greetings

We should send an assembled unit to Zack at jerryrigeverything so 5M people can see it stress tested.

I just purchased a new main board in u.k., definitely an expensive fun (b/c the whole oga will not work if the joystick is not connected properly, see the other thread).

I managed to fix mine. I didn't rip off the whole thing, just the black plastic thing that puts pressure onto the cable. I simply put a small piece of paper in the plug before putting in the flex cable. The piece of paper puts enough pressure onto the cable to get a connection
