RTC BACKUP BATTERY ISSUE

Unread post by trangdh » Thu Feb 13, 2020 12:25 pm

I am writing to inform you about the quality of RTC Backup Battery in Invoice No : HK1911059473 DATE : 2019-11-05 (82pcs)
We randomly test 10 pieces, 7/10 pieces unbent from coin cell. When we Digital Multimeter for checking the voltage, the batteries have voltage < = 3.2V and unequal. Some items have voltage 0 V.
We have been using Hardkernel products for many years but this is the first time we have encountered this problem.
Please give instructions for this case.

We've been shipping a couple of thousands backup batteries every month and you seems to be the first customer who met the problem.

Anyway, please contact "odroid at hardkernel dot com" with a link of this thread.
They will help your RMA process.

If you are using real time clock in your board then you can connect this backup battery to keep the time running, once the board get switched off. This battery can keep the RTC running up to 3 years without any external power.
