Installing OS

Unread post by moby2112 » Thu Feb 13, 2020 12:24 pm

Hello everyone I just have a question about installing the operating system. I have installed the operating system but when I access the memory card through my computer it says I don’t have any memory on the card. It is a 128 GB Sandisk micro sd card And my question is what am I doing wrong that I don’t see any memory available? I ran the etcher app on my Mac is this the problem or do I Redo it on my Windows laptop?

Hi.

Etcher should recognize that card. What kind of memory card do you use? Model name?
And actually I don't get that "I have installed the operating system" part. How did you install the OS for the first time? On Windows laptop?
You should use Windows system to put your games into that anyway.

In fact, this seems not an Odroid problem though. :)
Maybe you should go to the Etcher community to get a proper answer.

The card is an SanDisk mirosdxc 128gb. I have installed the software ubuntu 18.04 and I get to the configuration screen on the odroid advance go so everything seems to work there. The problem Im having is when i plug the card into my mac it says the max capicity of the card is 115mb and im trying to find out what I need to do to resolve this issue.

This is normal. The SD card has two partitions. The FAT32 partition is about 128MB in size and recognized by windows and mac. However, the ext4 partition is only readable on windows or mac using special software.

LinuxFS for Windows: Transfer rate decreased to 5 MB/s after 10 days if you want to keep using it for free. Or, you need to pay $19.95.
extFS for Mac: You can try extFS for Mac by Paragon Software for 10 days. After that it will be locked until you activate a purchased license. Or, you need to pay $39.95.

I think you would be better to install VirtualBox with Ubuntu/Debian as a ritualized guest OS. It is totally free and faster than the Paragon utilities probably.
