HC2 Reboot Loop

Unread post by ptychu » Wed Feb 05, 2020 4:06 pm

Hi :)

I just got a new HC2 (old one burned). I encounter a reboot after ca. 15 seconds. This repeats over and over again. It always reboots at the same moment - logs are identical. After a few seconds of silence I get:

I used sd card from my old HC2. I figured that perhaps Image is corrupted, so I got used fresh ubuntu-18.04.3-4.14-minimal-odroid-xu4-20190910.img.xz with the same result.

Full log in attachment. Any ideas where to look for the problem?

Try this minimal image since the HC2 has no display output for the Mate desktop.

BTW, which power supply do you use?
It seems to be an insufficient PSU problem like this thread.

As I already said - I tried it with a minimal image you pointed me to ;) I'll try to do load image again in case I made some mistake.

I've also read about PSU problems, but I thought the output would differ a bit from reboot to reboot. Log ends in the same place every time. I'll detatch HDD to reduce power load, and see what happens.
I'm using 12V/2A Power Supply Unit, bought on hardkernel.com Jan 16th 2018. I'll try to get another PSU for testing, but it may take me a few days.

Thanks for the help!

The PSU should be fine.
Try booting the board without HDD just for testing.

Also try Etcher for OS flashing.

Without HDD it boots fine. So it's HDD or PSU... I'll try to plug HDD to some other computer...

HDD is: Seagate Barracuda Pro 4 TB 3,5'' 256 ST4000DM004
It was connected to my previous HC2, when it burned. So there's a possibility that HDD is damaged as well.
