Revive Odroid xu4

Unread post by pettaa123 » Fri Jan 03, 2020 2:16 am

I put 5v on GND by accident on a xu4. Since then it doesnt boot up anymore. After plugging in the power source, the red led is solid and the blue led flashes only once for one second and never again. When using the emmc on a different xu4 everything boots up nice. I have 5.2 V between pin 1 and and pin 2. Any chance of reviving the XU4 or do I have to litter it

Most io is dead but the cpu/ram is still ok.
I haven't seen any repairs from this state, but I had a friend use his XU4 for crypto mining with network over ppp/serial: https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic? ... source=app

Depends on your use case. If you need something with high cpu but low io, it can be useful.

If the DRAM was damaged the blue LED flashed only ~0.5 second probably.
In that case, you can't revive it.
