ubuntu 18.04.3 MATE - one line of pixel error.....

Unread post by att2 » Sun Oct 13, 2019 3:11 am

Okay, so we have a Odroid C2 here, a 1024x600 touch display, and the latest and greatest Ubuntu 18.04.3 is installed, with kernel 3.16.72-46.
We have a Desktop question -- our Application is exactly the screen size (1024x600) and even if we set the task bar and the menu bar to mode "autohide" and "0 pixels wide", we notice that there is an area about 1 pixel long that limits the screen size of our application. That means, the last 1-2 pixel lines down below cannot be read by the user.
Is there any way to get rid of this small annoyance ?
Is it possible to install XFCE for example over the MATE , and if so, how ?

We don't know well the characteristics of the Mate panel stuff.
I hope you can find an answer from the generic Mate user groups.

"sudo apt install -y xfce" should be find to install the XFCE pacakges.
And you can choose the DE on the login screen after reboot.
