Unread post by zelenooq » Mon Oct 07, 2019 7:11 am

This device is capable for 4k 60hz HDR video?
Does this device has IR control?
Does this device support bluetooth?

We can't play Netflix 4K contents since Netflix doesn't have a licensing program for the development boards.

IR blaster feature needs a few external components.

You need a Bluetooth dongle.

I think he needs just IR receiver, which works out of the box.

@odroid, forget Netflix for a moment, this device is capable to deliver 4k 60Hz HDR with HDCP 2.2?

It's actually capable of 1080p @ 120hz as well.

viewtopic.php?t=36075

And yes it will do 4K HDR @ 60fps

@rooted, 1080px120Hz = 3960x1080x60Hz = 1980x2160x60Hz, isn't it?

But, ok, if Odroid can provide 4k 60Hz HDR HDCP 2.2. output then here is what I planned:
Install MS Edge. With MS Edge I can watch Netflix through browser with 4k 60Hz HDR.
With MS Edge I have extension to upload my own subtitle for Netflix.
And I connect this to my projector.
This works on my laptop but I want something smaller.
What do you think?!?

Only problem is MS edge needs Windows, which runs on Intel only, and the N2 is arm64.
Or did you mean H2?

@mad_ady, MS Edge is Chromium and it runs on Android too.

I had no idea it runs on android as well.
Well, without a certified device I doubt it will work, but I can try on my N2 if I have a bit of time

Our open platforms have no HDCP feature either.

Just tested with ARM(32) version of Microsoft Edge and Netflix Website will stream with a maximum resolution of 960x540p - using vp9 encoded video.

Edit: it appears Edge simply opens the actual installed tablet Netflix App.

Edge will not work with Netflix on Android, at least not on a device without L3 Widevine. If you had that you could just use the Netflix app.

@rooted, unfortunately not, because I need MS Edge for uploading my subtitles. It is not possible with Netflix app (at least I don't know).
So, my only hope is to have Vero 4+, as power machine, to put Windows 10 with MS Edge on it.
What do you think about it?

It won't work, you need an X86 machine such as the Odroid H2 to run Windows.

Yes to everything except HDR, while it's technically capable Intel blocks the ability.

If you need HDR you will need a different device.

We bought a full package of Windows 10 Pro. It was more expensive than the H2 board. :o

Installed it to a NVMe on the H2 and updated the video driver to the latest 26.20.100.7323.
Edge browser can play Netflix contents but the resolution was limited at 1080p.
So we bought a specific HEVC codec package(HEVC Video Extensions) from MS online store. It was around $1.
Now we can see 4K Netflix test videos.

But HDR didn't work. We don't know what's wrong.
