HC1 not booting

I've got an HC1 wired up with a UART cable, and it seems to just boot loop forever no matter what OS I try and load. I've tried the supplied ubuntu-18.04.3-4.14-minimal-odroid-xu4-20190910.img image as well as Armbian_5.95_Odroidxu4_Debian_buster_default_4.14.141_minimal.img and no dice. The device boots up, loads through a dmesg and then reboots back to the boot loader over and over. I've tried different cards, etcher vs dd, the works.

Any suggestions?

Boot-loop issue mostly occurs when the PSU can't supply enough current in the booting process.

Do you use our a 5V/4A PSU with your HC1?

Thank you for your response! The unit I'm testing is currently the only thing plugged into a 5V 10amp power supply. I've used this same supply to successfully power a variety of other SoCs with no issue.

What power wires are you using? Perhaps the gauge isn't large enough.

These would be better if you can't find a different power supply, 18g copper.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll give those a try. The hc1 does indeed boot up using a 5v 2amp wall wart instead of my bench power supply, I'm just not sure why. They're both putting out 5.04v. The only thing I haven't had the chance to try is switching the barrel connectors, just seems weird.

Likely you're experiencing voltage drop due to the small wires connected to your power supply.
