revision sticker or ....?

Unread post by fvolk » Thu Aug 15, 2019 6:12 pm

The revision B boards have "rev b" sticker under the ram slots.
If there are a bunch of rev A and rev B boards and all have their ram slots occupied this sticker is not visible.

Is there another way to distinguish revisions by just looking at the PCB?

Hi fvolk,

In the case of Rev B, you can find FCC, CE and KCC mark on the top of the PCB as silkscreen.
But in the case of Rev A, there are no such silkscreens on the top of the PCB, and instead, sticker on the bottom of the PCB.

And the Rev A is a blue in PCB color but, Rev B is more like a deep green.

No, all of mine have the FCC CE etc. markings and both appear to be the same PCB color (hard to say through the case).

Which actually makes sense, you can't sell them internationally without the proper FCC CE etc. certification markings.

Oh, I see. I was mistaken.
Have you updated all of RevA's bios? If so, it's hard to find the difference between Rev A and B. Some resistors, caps and inductors have changed.
