odroid n2 boot error - All ddr config failed...

Unread post by odroidle » Wed Aug 14, 2019 9:35 pm

Hi

I just received my brand new odroid n2 two days ago, and have been having trouble getting it to work. I am using the Hardkernel power supply, and thankfully also got the uart.

The blue heartbeat light never starts, and the boot keeps looping infinitely, ending with:
INFO : ERROR : Training has failed!
1D training failed
All ddr config failed...
It does the same thing booting from sdcard or spi.

[pastebin]https://pastebin.com/KuFS55nv[/pastebin]

Any ideas on what to do?

Do you see the same errors all the time?
Have you tried another OS image?
Where did you purchase and when?

All the time, except if I try to boot from sdcard without an sdcard present. Then the console just shows:
G12B:BL:6e7c85:7898ac;FEAT:E0F83180:402000;POC:F;RCY:0;EMMC:800;NAND:81;SD?:20000;USB:8;LOOP:1;EMMC:800;NAND:81;SD?:20000;USB;
I assume this means that I've flashed the sdcard correctly.

I've tried the latest Ubuntu minimal, the latest CoreElec as well as the lastest Petitboot upgrade image. All give the same boot loop as given in my first post.

Directly from hardkernel.com on August 4, received on August 12.

Would you please do one more test for sure?
Please remove all memory cards attached and flip the boot select switch to "SPI", then capture the logs if it is same or not.

With nothing plugged in except the uart and power supply I get the following when set to 'SPI'(the same old training and ddr config fail):
[pastebin]https://pastebin.com/QAj11TaC[/pastebin]

If I leave it alone the boot count just keeps increasing, repeating the same output.

If the same error happens with SPI boot, I think your ODROID-N2 is damaged for some reason or bad luck.
Please contact odroid at hardkernel dot com with the link of this thread and the proof of your purchase, sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Thanks tobetter, I have emailed hardkernel and will see what they have to say. Cheers.
