Dismantling the XU4 power brick

Post by mad_ady »

I have a XU4 power brick that died when I first plugged it in and I'd like to try to repair it (most likely a blown fuse).
Question is - how can I take the case apart in a way that I can put it back again later on? The case seems to be fused/glued.
Should I use a cutter or something else?

Remove the sticker you may find a screw under there but to be honest it's probably glued. There cheap as chips anyway

The plastic case was assembled by a high frequency fusion process due to some safety rules.
So it is very difficult to disassemble it.

Please buy new one instead of having a dangerous adventure.

Thank you for your advices. Normally they are most reasonable, but I can't just throw something in the bin because it doesn't work anymore. That's something I picked up from my grandfather :)
Even if I break it beyond repair, and even if it takes more time than it's worth it, at least I get to learn something new and practice fine motor skills :)
