It's different between RAM memory and storage memory.

RAM memory
Need electric to remember the data. When it electric is no more deliver to the RAM all data wipe out.

Storage memory.
There are several types of teknology but simpel understanding of this is that electric change construct of the material so when power is cut away it's not going away because it's remember it's construct.

Finally, i got the new Odroid H2.. but there is still issue.

1) I opened the package and found that start and restart buttons for the device was separate. So do I need to attach them myself as in earlier H2 device they were already attached.

2) I tested new EMMC chip on my previous H2 device and it worked. So issue was with previous EMMC chip for sure.

3) Now with the new EMMC chip on both the device, ubuntu opens dirrctly not asking for default password.
When I do su and enter pass it says authentication failure. When I do su bash it then also give error that user bash does not exist.

Wow - never seen one without buttons.
The su issue is normal. When running just su, it asks for the root password (which you need to set in advance). When ran su <something>, the something is the user you want to switch to (there is no bash user). Read the manual for su with man su.
You may be looking for sudo (man sudo)

enter:

Code: Select all

sudo passwd root
When prompted for a password, create your own password and confirm it.
after that, the #su will work with the new password

Ok will try the su command.. but Ubuntu logins directly without asking for any password. Is this ok or is this profile deleted on next reboot or shutdown. How to check?

Secondly, can you please ask sales team to contact me that since buttons are not attached on Odroid what I need to do now as I clearly mentioned to test the devices and send me this time. Also since I am clear now that previous emmc has issue then how to get refunded for that.

In installing the os you should get a question about login directly or not. Most os deliver this question.

Anyway you can change this after but not remember right now. But if you Google your question you problebly get the direct hit with awnser. Slot off information about Ubuntu and Linux on the Webb..

search word's; Ubunto disabled direct login

Don't forget to install ssh if you in need to config your box without monitor.

Sudo apt-get install ssh

Can you help with port forwarding setup in odroid or at my router level so that I can access my another device connected to Odroid via Internet through anywhere in the world.

That is a question better asked on a networking forum, because it generraly depends on your router.
