Kernel log full of vidioc_try_fmt errors.

Post by crazyquark »

Hello,

Lately, my Cloudshell2(Odroid-XU4) kernel log has been full with this error:

Code: Select all

vidioc_try_fmt:401: Unsupported format for destination.
I suspect this is related to emby/ffmpeg but not sure.
Any tips on how to debug? It is also poluting my cloudshell LCD display.

My kernel is:

Code: Select all

Linux odroid-nas 4.14.127-164 #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jun 19 17:28:22 -03 2019 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux

It's normal. Caused by ffmpeg.
Console output shouldn't go to your cloudshell display. What does cat /proc/cmdline show?

OK.

/proc/cmdline says:

Code: Select all

console=tty1 console=ttySAC2,115200n8 root=UUID=e139ce78-9841-40fe-8823-96a304a09859 rootwait ro fsck.repair=yes net.ifnames=0  HPD=true vout=hdmi usbhid.quirks=0x0eef:0x0005:0x0004 smsc95xx.macaddr=00:1e:06:61:7a:39 false s5p_mfc.mem=16M
I should say that I use https://github.com/DaveBurkhardt/cloudshell-nmon and not the default cloudshell_lcd script.

I see it's using tty8, so you shouldn't be getting messages from the console - unless it's a feature of nmon to display them...
Have a look at AreaScout's cloudshell display scripts for a nicer-looking display.
