Progressive scan over composite/CVBS?

Unread post by mxxmmxxm » Tue Jul 16, 2019 7:15 am

For a couple years, I've been using a RasPi 3 to drive a CRT in my living room, and it's been great but I'm looking to upgrade and even with the gains of the RPi4, the Odroid N2 seems like it's still a significantly more powerful beast, and can still natively do composite its over 4-pole 3.5mm jack.

The one kicker that's stopping me from pulling the trigger is that the RPi (slightly hackishly) supports progressive scan on its composite out. This halves the effective vertical resolution but for old video games means a dramatic increase in visual quality. Does the composite output on the N2 support this?
