New N2 - No Red LED, Blinking Blue LED in SPI Only, Will not Boot

Unread post by rubberchicken » Wed Jul 10, 2019 10:50 am

Hi,

I see this same issue is reported here and not resolved. I tried to raise it with Hardkernel outside of the forums but they insist that I raise it on the forum for there 'engineers' to assist. I cannot see much evidence of Hardkernel 'engineers' assisting with the issues posted but will give them the benefit of the doubt before I lodge a complaint with PayPal. I spend a lot of money through Paypal and they are very helpful in dealing with companies like this.

I bought 2 x N2's - Invoice ID: HK1906236508

1 works fine, 1 has this issue. The red light power light does not come on and there is no power to USB devices.

When the switch is in the EMMC position and attempt to boot from EMMC or uSD nothing happens, no LED's light up.

When the switch is in the SPI position it appears that Petitboot loads but since there is no power to storage or USB it just sits there.

I have tried with a few different power supplies, including the Hardkernel 15V 4A supply that came with my H2. I have spent the best part of a day trying to troubleshoot this issue.

This is clearly a DOA hardware issue, Hardkernel need to be accepting their errors and rectifying them promptly, not wasting their customers time trying to troubleshoot something that they should not have to.

Regards,

Paddy

Sorry to know your board is not working.
Before we proceed the RMA for your board, would you be able to check the voltage on GPIO pin header #1, #2 what voltages are measured if you have a multimeter? Also, by any chance, if you have a USB-to-SERIAL cable, can you run these command and let me know how it works?

Code: Select all

root@buster:/sys/class/gpio# echo 435 > /sys/class/gpio/export
root@buster:/sys/class/gpio# cat /sys/class/gpio/gpio435/value
