Another new N2 user

Post by ab1jx » Wed Jul 10, 2019 8:38 am

Just ordered from Ameridroid with case, power supply, gain wifi, RTC battery. It's sort of a replacement for a Rock64. I also have 3 Raspberry Pi 3Bs, about 4 Zeros and a Pocket Beagle.

I'm hoping to run Debian on it because I don't care for Ubuntu, I haven't started looking for software yet. I've been on the Debian-ARM maling list for a couple years. If I have to maybe I can pirate Ubuntu's drivers.

Found viewtopic.php?f=179&t=33865 already, don't even have the computer yet.

Welcome aboard.

Just as a side note, there are no Ubuntu or Debian specific drivers for the N2.
There's the Kernel, which runs both on Ubuntu and Debian, no difference here.
There is the closed source GPU binary blobs, which are the same for Ubuntu and Debian.

Aside from that there's only the AML specific VPU drivers, that I guess can be compiled for a specific OS.

The rest is software of the respective OS and not drivers.

You can't pirate them since they are provided for free :(. My pirating days are over, since abandoning windows nearly two decades ago... Free software does have its drawbacks... :)
