How to use XU4 32 GB eMMc with N2

Unread post by BlackPearl » Tue Jul 09, 2019 5:03 pm

Hi, I am expecting to take delivery of the Odroid N2 in the next few days as an upgrade from my XU4
I have an 32 GB eMMC module (red one) on the XU4 which should be compatible with the N2.
I also have the eMMC adaptor and can write images from my windows PC.
My question is can I just download say Ambian image for N2 and write it to the eMMC then just boot it
OR do I need to perform some function similar to the XU4 recovery to replace the boot loader hidden partition to be N2 compatible and if so how?
Done much reading but very confused on this and I am unable to find any details on N2 boot loader recovery.
Thanks in advance for any assistance/clarification on this.

Since Amlogic SoC doesn't use the hidden boot sectors in the eMMC chipset, you just need to flash a proper N2 OS image into your eMMC.

Thanks for the info on N2 and eMMC , I have now flashed an OS for the N2 on to the eMMC and so I should be all set to rock & roll when it arrives.
Looking forward to some fun times ahead as development grows for the board.
