the case is that it turns off when you restart it, then it starts and the screen is black for a while and suddenly it turns on but does not show anything just a dash blinking to the left above the screen and there it stays a long time, to get To start I have to disconnect the power and reconnect and it starts perfectly.

So you only need one HDD to get the cloudshell and omv to work? I've got a Cloudshell 2 ordered, but really only have one HDD to test with it at the moment. When I'm in the mood to spend £100, I'll go ahead and buy another HDD to up the space with a spanning disk method! Just wanted to confirm this is what you are currently doing? I.e. using just a single disk? Cheers. Will.

if I only have a wd of 3 tb because I can not afford to make a large expense, it works perfectly but it is not in raid 1 yet

I still can not solve the restart problem, when it is booting you can hear the hdd rotate but after a while I could see the screen of the couldshell and not load anything, how can it be fixed?
If I turn off the power and reconnect it if it works normally.

The CloudShell2 is not made for reboot, it should run forever  no, I am just joking, is the hard disk in the bottom slot ? If not try to swap it, because the bottom slot is the RAID port 0

I also heard one Korean user have the problem with "reboot" command on OMV while our Ubuntu has no such issue.
I think uncertain system update from Armbian(OMV was built on it) seems to break the reboot function with CloudShell2. :?:

Why doesn't it show me the temperature of the hdd that I have granted?
It took a few days that the temperature of the cpu is above 50 degrees can the curve of the fan operation be modified?

Therefore I say, take the HDD out and place it on the bottom SATA port, because this port is RAID port 0, it is there where the RAID Controller sits and the RAID controller controls everything, he get's SMART data from the disk and monitors disks about there health, the SMART data contains the temperature of the hard disk, the RAID controller also manages to join other disks to it's RAID port (RAID0, RAID1, SPAN), if a disk is not a member of this RAID configuration you wont get any temperature data from it !

So if you connect your disk to SATA port 1 you will not get all the benefits of the RAID controller aka temperature a.s.o

Now change the hdd slot and display the temperature on the screen. I don't know where I saw that the top connector was hdd0 and down hdd1 that's why I put it at the top.
Is there any way to customize the fan rpm curve according to temperatures?
Can the fan of the odroid xu4 create a cooling curve?

Sure I mean look at this graph https://snapshot.raintank.io/dashboard/ ... kP?orgId=2

There you can see when the fan turns on, it was triggered by the hdd1 temperature, it was over 50°C, then after approximately 5 minutes it turns off again, this time you can setup inside configure file, it's called hysteresis (FAN_OFF_HYSTERESIS) ! The maximum CPU temperature (after which temp. the fan should turn on) you can also setup FAN_ON_TEMP.

The maximum HDD temperature you can't setup, it's hard coded to 50°C on which the case fan should turn on

The RPM of the case fan itself can't be controlled as far as I know, the XU4 fan speed can be controlled, it is of course creating it's own cooling curve !

I tried to modify but I didn't know if I didn't do something right but it didn't work, as I said I don't understand much about typing commands
If I put the command it tells me that I have access denied, from putty

        Code: Select all

        /etc/cloudshell2-monitoring/cloudshell2-monitoring.conf

If you use putty your PC is running windows, ok there is an important application for you called winscp https://winscp.net/eng/download.php install it and connect with root user to your CloudShell2, then browse to the file /etc/cloudshell2-monitoring/cloudshell2-monitoring.conf right click it and select edit from the drop down menu, now you can change settings and save it. In the top menu you have an icon to open putty from within winscp, winscp has to know the path of putty on your PC you can edit this in settings of winscp, now if you are connected with putty you can restart cloudshell2-monitoring by enter systemctl restart cloudshell2-monitoring this is how someone should work remotely from windows ;)

I already downloaded the program and it works perfectly but I modified values of the fan start and there is no effect, I even put 0 in

          Code: Select all

          FAN_ON_TEMP =
and without any effect, restart and nothing comes up

Come on dabarsa87, give your best try to do some troubleshooting, I can't tell you everything, it should look like this:

            Code: Select all

            # CPU Temperature on which the case fan should switch on (default FAN_ON_TEMP=65 in °C) !! Celsius !! FAN_ON_TEMP=0 to switch on Fan permanently
            FAN_ON_TEMP=0

Read the first instructions in the config file, there it says Delete a '#' character at the head of line to uncomment and set the variable to enable it

This is how it looks like with fan always on https://snapshot.raintank.io/dashboard/ ... rmA4rTyz6h at 19h there was the restart ;)

Is there any way to protect folders under key?
What I want is that if they want to access the folder that asks for the access code on both mobile phones and PCs or on smart TV, is that possible?
            How do i do it?

Search for password protected samba shares. But note that:
            1. Data is not encrypted
            2. Password protection is only when accessing it from different devices
            3. Windows in particular has the habit of caching your user/password and only asking you the first time
            4. Smart Tvs may not officially support samba/windows sharing (or they didn't back in my day)

It's easy to setup samba shares with OMV, you can add multible users for multible shares, yes TV's are more or like support UPNP or PLEX over samba shares, Kodi does support samba shares

No matter what, OMV supports them all :)

In the end you can change the start of the fan, you can have a temperature of 50 degrees and the truth is very happy, the fan almost does not turn on and the temperature of the CPU is about 40 degrees making a difference of about 10 to 15 degrees less, In GPU I have a difference of 5 degrees and in HDD I have a difference of 6 degrees.
              Very satisfied.
The issue of restart failure was also resolved.
Now I just have access from outside my home network to Nas, I will try to configure a vpn.
