Unread post by pat2 » Sat Jun 15, 2019 4:42 am

hi guys, I'm testing my SSD connected to USB 3 on Odroid XU4. Below the results:

it seems SSD is mounted correctly on an USB device. Correct?

Then:

odroid@odroid:~/Documents/STORAGE$ dd if=/dev/zero of=test oflag=direct bs=4M count=256
256+0 records in
256+0 records out
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 11.3522 s, 94.6 MB/s

odroid@odroid:~/Documents/STORAGE$ dd if=test of=/dev/null iflag=direct bs=4M
256+0 records in
256+0 records out
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 11.2741 s, 95.2 MB/s

is it an acceptable speed?
thanks

No.
If the SSD file system is EXT4, you could get over 200MB/sec probably.

thanks a lot, odroid. It's NTFS!

It appeared too slow. That's the reason I was asking...let me try with EXT4.
i will tell you thanks
