Screen Off

Post by cberl »

Hello,
with my old XU4, I used apps like Screen Off to manually put the monitor into sleep mode.
A touch on the monitor and the monitor was on again - wonderful.
When I use this or similar apps with the N2 (Android 20190523), not just the monitor goes off, the whole N2 shuts down.
What can I do there?

Thanks Chris

Hi, cberl.
I already merged code into n2, but it does not work.

I'll check this out a bit more as soon as possible.

Or try to prevent HDMI PHY off.

You edit /odm/boot.init like this.

setenv suspend_hdmiphy "0"

it will always wake up screen by touch input.

Hello,

Any updates on this issue, I am testing the Android PIE (20190809) image and still having random incorrect behaviours, and with many different outcomes.

Please resolve this issue, this is vital to use efficiently on my car

Best Regards

Can you mention the cases when you are seeing the weird behavior.

I have yet to start testing the hardware at my end. But I hoped that the sleep issue has been solved. I want there to be a mode that prevents N2 going to sleep altogether for any reason - TV off/on or N2 sitting idle. Is this too much to ask? I don't want a pseudo solution like WOL to keep my N2 active.

Hi codewalker,

setting setenv suspend_hdmiphy "0" has the disadvantage, that monitor never shuts down and need full power.
Setting it to "1" will shut monitor and also the N2 in a state that allows no restart by an touch input as already described at:
viewtopic.php?p=260973#p260973

This behaviour still exists with latest image 20190812. Additionally I also have many freezes and loose connection to serial debug interface in this image very often. Is a downgrade to an older image possible without setting up a new android?
