Deleting / marking games?

Unread post by Gadhetguy » Sat May 18, 2019 6:36 am

Hello all,

I have many thousands of roms on my Odroid Go.

Can I somehow delete those I do not like and / or mark those I do like? How?

Thank you for any pointers!

You can delete the ones you don't like by removing the sd and plugging it into a computer. Note that the rom being currently played should not be deleted

Thank you. Yes, that is clear - using a PC is an option, but not the one I am looking for,

I would like to do this on the unit without any pc... This is a fundamental feature for a handheld device which can store thousands of games.

I can't imagine there is no solution or workaround... I probably miss the obvious solution to this (maybe there is a simple shortcut?) as I am a total newbie with this system.

This is a very nice retro gaming device - so I am quite sure there is a way to do this basic feature - but how?

You can write your own app https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid_go/ardui ... uino_setup
Or edit the go_play fw because it's also open source.

Yes, writing my own program is also an option. Does that mean that this very basic feature is not available today?

No, so you can add this "very basic" Feature.
Would nice to see a File Explorer for the Odroid Go (I have at the moment no time for it).
So you can do it also to learn how to code something for the OdroidGo.

I am trying to find the best handheld retro game for me and my kids. Tried the bittboy, rs97, different raspi based units etc. This seems the easiest to use so far but if no delete and /or highlight exists I may just gift it to someone (no time or real interest for coding I try to play when in airports and airplanes) and stay with one of the other units. Hence the original question which finally I have a clear answer for. Thank you

There is a way around the problem, but it's more convoluted than using a PC.
1. There is a File explorer as part of the m5stack framework, but not sure if it supports deleting.
2. There's an odroidgo ftp server you can use, together with a smartphone to manage files.

I think it's the SD browser section: https://github.com/botofancalin/M5Stack ... p-Advanced
