Trouble installing cloudshell...
Hi. I followed the instructions here : https://wiki.odroid.com/accessory/add-o ... sy_install
but there is a problem with the cloudshell fan package , as I get :
update-rc.d: error: initscript does not exist: /etc/init.d/cloudshell2-fan
Also, despite reboot, the LCD is still black, so is there anything additionnal to do to see it living ?

PS:
Did that : echo "options fbtft_device name=hktft9340 busnum=1 rotate=270" > /etc/modprobe.d/odroid-cloudshell.conf
and the display lights up, but still displays nothing...

Hi.
Which OS do you use?
If your system is on Ubuntu/Debian, try the following commands.
You don't need to download/install the deb file yourself. We're providing package repository for CloudShell scripts.
That 3 packages should make your CloudShell 2 fan and LCD works.
If LCD still doesn't work, you should look into your configuration files about loading modules for CloudShell 2.
and
FYI, it has been reported that adding

Hi.
I used Linux ubuntu, with a 4.14 kernel, but my XU4 was purchased a few months ago, so I tried to do a dist-upgdrade, and finally this completely corrupted the packaging system.
I was not aware packages were readily available, so I will reflash a fresh ubuntu on the emmc tonight, and I will try according to your instructions...

Re: Trouble installing cloudshell...
I talked too fast....
Yes, it was working. But I installed 2 disks, and re-ran through the whole procedure starting from the same fresh image.
And at first reboot, I have some "login banner" displaying on the LCD that does lots of flickering.....And then it comes black, and there's nothing I can find to have it back again, even the backlight...
Any ideas ?

Re: Trouble installing cloudshell...
OK. I've got a clue.
I plugged the HDMI cable of the XU3, and a monitor on the other side.
While the LCD is black....display happens to the HDMI that is tty mode (on a small area top left...), with all I expected to see on the LCD
So for some reason, that stupid thing does the output to the HDMI, not the LCD.
How to fix that back ?

OK. Don't go further.....IT IS AN HARDWARE ISSUE !
Display works only when slightly pinched at the top right....
Now a question to the hardkernel guys : is there a warranty ?

Yes, there must be a (limited) warranty. viewtopic.php?f=53&t=661
I think the LCD FPC cable seems not to be fully inserted into the connector or slightly misaligned.
Contact "odroid at hardkernel dot com" with a link of this post.
They will help your RMA process if you purchased the board from us directly.
Otherwise, contact your local distributor/reseller.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
