XU4 RTC - Power outage problem

Unread post by guilhermecvogt » Sun May 05, 2019 7:55 am

Hi there!

I'm trying to set-up the RTC of my Odroid XU4, but I'm facing some issues.

I followed the wiki tutorial (https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid-xu4/appl ... rtc_wakeup) to be sure that the RTC battery is working and it is.

Shutting down the board via "sudo poweroff" and turning it on again also records time perfectly.

However, when de DC adapter is disconnected, removing any power source from the board (RTC battery aside, of course), and connected again the clock goes crazy, returning a date from 2016, as there was no battery pluged-in.

Any suggestions? Are there some boot script overwriting my hwclock?

We will try to reproduce the issue first.
We may need to add "hwclock" sync command in the crontab probably.

We couldn't reproduce the issue with Ubuntu 18.04 + Kernel 4.14.111-158.

Unplug the DC cable suddenly and keep it several minutes and plug the cable again.
The clock is correct.
We did the test over 10 times.

Which version of Ubuntu and Kernel do you use?
