Hardware-transcoding h265 for Emby possible???

Unread post by JeyJey » Sun Apr 14, 2019 4:20 am

Hi dear,

is there a way to use hardware transcoding with the Emby Media Server (ffmpeg).

Any hardware transcoding failed and its fall back to software transcoding.

For example: h264 1080p to h264 720p failed
(Error initializing output stream 0:0 -- Error while opening encoder for output stream #0:0 - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height)

Im interessted to hardware transcoding h265 (HEVC) to h264.

I have many files in h265. Stream to my tv is no problem. I also want to stream those files to devices that don't understand this codec (moblie, tablet or Browsers).

Is there any patch for emby or a custom lib for ffmpeg? Is it a driver problem?

Any one idea?
