LibreELEC (official): 8.95.001 screen save NOT black saver

Unread post by bbolin » Tue Jan 08, 2019 1:22 am

Any tips on getting power saver blank to work. All I can get working is "Black" and that's not power saver Off.

There is another screen saver blank that can be downloaded but looks like it's looking for other decencies. "xset" for DPMS etc... is Libreelec even using X11?

Not interested in hibernation or sleep the Odroid uses such little power seems foolish

It's not using X. I have been struggling to get the other to work as well but I'm wanting it to turn off my TV with CEC, I can do it with cec-client but not the screensaver.

Dim works. What do you mean blank?

AFAIK no TV has this capability, they have screen off or powered off.

Screen off I think is what I'm referring too. Worked just fine when using Libreelec on X86 ZOTAC IONITX-A-U Atom N330

The TV I'm working with is a Samsung UN24H4000AF

Wasn't using a screen saver black. It's completely powered off

The true test is looking at the TV in a completely dark room. Any screen saver that is black or dark would still show signs of a back light

Yes screen off is what I want also, I don't know why this isn't working on the C2 unfortunately.

The default is CEC enabled. My guess is the CEC driver is not sending correct codes to enable screen off

BTW: I have also tried disabling CEC from the Kodi interface and disabling CEC in /flash/config.ini with the same outcome

I've got a remote with separate programmable device buttons ( RCA RCRP05BR ) to manually power off the TV, but it's a pain when you fall asleep. I would prefer this to be automated
