What are the screws that came with the HC2 for?

Unread post by dchang0 » Tue Dec 18, 2018 5:25 pm

I got four machine screws in each of my HC2 boxes, but they don't seem to fit anything.

They don't fit my 3.5in hard drives (too small in diameter).

What are the four screws for?

I figured it out.

I must've gotten the wrong size of screw. The screws that came with my HC2 are for 2.5in drives, not 3.5in drives. I think they were meant to go with the HC1

I went and ordered some 6-32 screws for the 3.5in drives I installed.

I had no idea 2.5" and 3.5" drives use different screws.

We've tested several different HDDs and all of them uses the M3 screws.

But, some other HDDs mount holes seem to match to #6-32 UNC screw instead of M3. :o
Can you tell me the brand/model name of your HDD?
