Replacing Stock Emulators with custom-compiled ones

Unread post by wishindo » Tue Dec 11, 2018 6:47 am

I'm wanting to test cashlo's link cable mod to GNUboy-go, but I'm not sure how to put it into firmware.bin. Can someone tell me how? Alternatively, at what offset would I flash a rom once i've run

Code: Select all

make flash
in the GNUboy folder?

Okay, I've figured out that

Code: Select all

./flashapp.sh
./flashrom.sh ~/path/to/rom
answers my second question, but I've yet to figure out how to compile emulators into .fw files for the GO...

To compile Odroid Go emus, you must have a build environment set up. Cwiis gives some succinct instructions here: viewtopic.php?f=158&t=32844&start=50#p241501

Once you have a build environment setup, you navigate to the folder of the desired emulator and run the 'make' command to produce a .bin file. This can be flashed to the GO using the flashapp shell script. If you really need a .fw file, theres instructions for that linked below but it is only necessary if you want to use the onboard flashing "firmware" to write the app instead of flashing it over USB UART

https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid_go/arduino_app (note: skip to the "Make tile image with ffmpeg" step if you already have a .bin file)

Send me your file. I'll do it.

And check this:

These are the tools I use to build full emu firmware.
