Myvolumio

Unread post by chrislmcdonald » Tue Oct 30, 2018 1:26 am

With the new my volimio images in Beta, I still see no support for XU4 boards in the regular volumio support forums or rune audio. I really would love to use my XU4 for audio play back in my HIFI. I see they have images for the C1 and 2. This might be a stupid question but, can a C1 os work on the XU4? or does someone have a proper way to complete this?

You can find a trial Volumio 2.x image for XU4. It was uploaded over one year ago. But it seems not to be maintained after releasing.

Yes, that is mostly true, I think we had less than 10 requests for XU4 so far, which did not really justify the effort.
But..call it coincidence.. I built a new XU4 version last weekend with kernel 4.19.
There is still a serious issue with it using usb audio, I don't seem to be able to get resolutions higher than 176Khz.
No idea yet what causes it, this is the first sbc I have seen this happening with.

I'm not promising anything yet, but with upgrading Volumio to Debian stretch and the upcoming myVolumio introduction, XU4 might also get updated (with the old kernel 4.9).

Edit: As I don't read here often, and not regular, you would get a better service by asking these questions on the volumio forum.
Go to Volumio Development/ Community Forums/Volumio 2 on Odroid Boards

4.14.78-150 is the current odroid supported version (just in case you miss it for the build).

@elatllat: thanks for the pointer, I’ll try that one first before re-using version 4.9.(?)I built the current (working) version with.

We now have a version for XU4/HC1/HC2 and this one will be supported as we have more users now, some of them wishing to create a standalone player (HC1/HC2).
So this verson will boot from SD and eMMC (the old one only supported eMMC).
This image was built with the official HK 4.14.y kernel.
It also includes myVolumio (with Todal and Qobuz integration).

Nice to see a new Volumio image for XU4/HC1/HC2. :D
Since HC1/HC2 have no eMMC connector, this new image will be more useful.
