MP3 Player?

Unread post by RCM327 » Fri Sep 14, 2018 11:13 am

Hi all! Any chance a simple MP3 player, likely MONO, would be possible for simple background music when not being used as a game player? Too intensive?

Thanks!

I have been kicking around this idea now that MP3 patents have expired. I have not begun development yet since I want to coalesce some things together. My idea is to play MP3, podcast, web radio, and offer bluetooth support as both a source and sink as well as audio DAC output. Currently, this is an ambitious goal, and I have not committed yet to it: its just a concept for now.

Web radio with Bluetooth sink would be insane :)

The M5stack multiapp already has webradio (and newer versions local mp3 playback support). Now that @calin (the original developer) got his go, I expect we'll see a supported release in a few weeks.
The multiapp works, but keys are mapped backwards and sound doesn't work (it was designed for a different audio chip)
