Odroid C2 5.7V power supply

Unread postby chargerent » Mon Aug 13, 2018 1:32 am

We are looking to power the odroid c2 attached to a VU5A screen with a 5.7V power supply. Will this work? Will it be stable long term? TY.

technically NO 5.7 is just about point 3 to point 4 of a volt too high.

what supply are you using can you provide more specific specs of it..

however i think you could have a meter reading tolerance on your meter it is a very odd voltage for a supply to output..i think i would check with a different meter.to rule that out..

however if you attach a vu5 screen to the C-2 it may load up your supply enough for it to be stable
..having said that..if you are going to over clock the C-2 this may also induce enough load to pull the rail down

there are a few things to look at

...where are you getting 5.7 volts..that is an odd supply..also you need to boot it with the 5.7 volt supply and measure pin 2 of the 40 pinn connector..you may be surprised at what actual reading your getting under load..

on another note ..what you could do is run a long 18 gauge power cable to induce a voltage drop..due to the long cable length
you’ll have to experiment with that get like 2M of it wind it round a beer can and tape it up to make a coil ..if you need to make a voltage drop...
so it is easier to work into your system hardware wise speaking...

i guess the thing is it all comes down to what voltage your seeing under load... this is what matters the most...!!!!

@odroid pls move this to C-2 sub forum...

Moved from XU4 sub-forum.

The input voltage must be between 4.8~5.3Volt.
