C2 reboot on high USB irq usage

Unread post by AdrianB » Sun Aug 12, 2018 9:52 pm

I'm using an Odroid C2 with 8 DVB-C/T (6x TechnoTrend TT-TVStick CT2-4400 and 2xTECHNOTREND TT-connect CT2-4650).
Those DVB-C are connected via 2x 4 ports USB 3.0 which are connected in USB C2 ports.

The problem is that if I'm using 4 or maximum 5 DVB-C, Odroid C2 has a CPU usage about 30-40% from 400%, so pretty low usage.
Now the issues are starting: if I'm trying to start another DVB-C or if I'm doing for example something which uses high CPU suddenly Odroid C2 is rebooting.

The system is ArmBian with Kernel 4.17. I've notice same behavior also with 4.15, 4.14 or 4.13. The software used for streaming the DVB-C channels is mumudvb.
I don't know what is the issue and why this behavior.

I can send other information also if is needed.

Kind regards,

Try to limit max CPU speed to 1.2 or something (edit /etc/default/cpufreqtools and restart service/board). It this doesn't help, sum all info (what you wrote here + armbianmonitor -u) and publish it here: https://forum.armbian.com/forum/16-amlogic-s905x
