My Emulator Christmas Wishlist to Santa Claus

Unread post by JasonB32 » Sat Aug 04, 2018 11:47 pm

My Emulator Christmas Wishlist to Santa Claus:

1) MSX 2. [edit 3, IT'S RELEASED I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! https://github.com/Schuemi/fMSX-go/releases ]
2) Commodore 64 (they have the best Arkanoid).
3) Amstrad - CPC.
4) BBC Micro (edited - added)
5) Sharp X1.
6) Atari 5200 SuperSystem.
7) Intellivision (i know Colecovision is far superior already).

Other: Sierra Adventure Games Interpreter or Scumm VM (I don't know if this is even possible).

Bonus/Level Up: Arduboy Emulator, Commander Keen series and Hugo's House of Horrors to be ported over hahaha!!!

The oDroid Go is so incredible I'm buying another one, once they come back in inventory their sold out right now.

Thank you again oDroid Go Team, @OtherCrashOverride, @DavidKnight247, and also thank you to Youtubers like Kamots Talk Tech and BackOfficeShow for educating me on how to flash the oDroid Go and teach me things about it.

Am I the only one who wants to see dos running? Not for the games (because most likely they will be too heavy), but for the cool factor :)

I think resources like time should be spent making useful emulator's/features that many people would want to use.

I was thinking of porting the zx spectrum on screen keyboard. There is a dos example on a simpler esp chip. Maybe I'll look into it when doom is complete.

I looked into MSX/MSX2. Its unlikely that a MSX2 port can be made because of the large memory requirements of 128K RAM + 128K VRAM. While a MSX1 port may be possible, the only code base that was "simple enough" (fMSX) is not offered under a compatible license. This means a MSX/MSX2 port is unlikely.

Darn, so many good games on the MSX. Oh well, I edited my wishlist updating that info, thank you.

Hi,

I'm working on an MSX1+2 emulator based on fMSX with the permisson from Marat Fayzullin and it is looking very good. Now even sound works and everything is very smoothly!
