Need SD card to be plugged-in

Unread postby juagicre » Wed Jul 11, 2018 7:24 am

Hello,

I am following this guide: https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid-xu4/software/building_webserver to set up my Odroid HC1 as a web server.

I am in chapter: 3. Modify some setup files and Copy the root partition Step 4 I see that my mounting point, ' /', is sda1

My problem is that if I switch off the Odroid and unplug the SD card, the Odroid does not start up again.

If I plug it again it boots normally.

Do I have to plug the SD card anyway even having the system in my SSD???

(if so, does it matter what is inside the SD card or is just a hardware check?)

It is normal. Exynos-5422 SoC can't boot from a USB/SATA storage media.
The boot-loader must exist in the SD card at least.
