Odroid XU4 with Noctua Fan - Fan cant start on its own

Unread post by ChillingMisc » Fri Jul 06, 2018 4:41 am

I just bought a Odroid XU4 to use it as retro gamingstatio in the gamingstation turbo case. I modded it with a Noctua Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX :

https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B071J8 ... UTF8&psc=1

When I start the Odroid I see the fan moving a little bit but the pulse is not enough, to start the spinning. When I manually start the spinning when the impulse comes it's abled to make it spin.

Already have tried the odroid-xu3-fan-control from github and setting the fan_speed in sys/devices/odroid_fan.14/ to "1 80 160 254". It doesnt save these settings after rebooting. Has anybody an idea how I can solve this?

Try

"1 140 190 254"

Or do your changed settings allow the fan to start?

I'm using the gamestation turbo image built on Debian Jessie from this forum post:
viewtopic.php?f=98&t=7322

I'll check the kernel version when I arrive at home.

i tried some settings but it seems to me that these get overwritten by rebooting.

What do you mean with changing settings to allow the fan to start? It gets the starting impulse and spins when i help it to initiate it

Hi, I also would like to change the fan to a noctua one.
How did you change the fan on your odroid xu4 ?
Do you have a picture ?
