hi,

is it possible to add .TAP or .TZW support? they seem to be the most common formats for spectrum downloads.

many thanks for work so far - it's brilliant.

Can anyone post an idiots guide to compile from source. I’ve downloaded the toolset for windows and added the esp-off. it compiles (running make in the root of the project), but the bin file (in build folder) looks at little small 390k, do I then run mkfw against the bin?

The bin file could be ok. I just compiled it and the result is 384832 bytes.

Hi,

I flashed my Go to device firmware 20181001 and added the latest Spectrum fw (20180819) to my SD card and now when I select the spectrum firmware it doesnt start the spectrum firmware until I switch the Go's power switch off and on.

It didn't do this before updating, it would start straight away after it had erased and written the Spectrum fw.

I tried reflashing the old device firmware and putting the older Spectrum fw on the card and it made no difference.

Am I missing something?

You should really try this one.

Much better device firmware. I have no trouble whatsoever with it and you will gain multiboot.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that fw before. I tried it but I still have the same issue; after selecting the Spectrum fw I get a blank screen until I power off and back on again, then the spectrum fw starts.

Hold on. I'll whip out my go and do some testing.

UPDATE: Using this updated version of Spectrum I have the same problem:

The update is worth it , but the bug still exists.

I see this bug too, needing to switch on and off before it runs. This is including when used with the multi-boot firmware from ducalex as well as standalone.

I want to play ZX Spectrum games on my PC, can someone suggest a good ZX Spectrum Emulator for installing on my PC? I found the RetroArch and some FUSE emulator but don't know are they the right ones.

You're in the wrong topic, but if you intend to emulate multiple consoles, go for Retroarch. If you really just want the ZX Spectrum, go for a single purpose emulator.

Furthermore, the best emulator for your machine will only depend on your machine. Weak machine, don't go for the bells and whistles. Stick to the ones who are reputed to work on less resources. Strong computer, you should go for the bells and whistles. Like rewind function, cheats and such.

Good Luck
