CD and DVD drives in Android

Unread postby Madarsar » Sun Jun 03, 2018 1:33 am

i have started a project to make my own Hi-Fi Station.
ODROID-VU8C with ODROID-C2 seems to be a good basic for such.

Just Android is a new topic for me... especially using it in such a way.

I am using SATA to USB converters to get an extra HDD and CD/DVD Drives connecting to the ODROID-C2.
For some reason there is no problem with the HDD, which works fine, but CD/DVD Drives don't work at all.

The ODROID-C2 sees the drives (lsusb) but i can not use them.
Also USB-DVD Drives (without the converter Print) seems to be locked out by Android. ?

Has someone experience to play Audio-CDs and Video-DVDs on an Android system?
How can the problem be solved? Do i have to use Ubuntu instead of Android?

Android 6.0.1
Kernel 3.14.29
Kodi, VLC

Engish is not my mother language and i hope that i explained my situation clearly.
sincerely yours.

I don't think that will work, try using the OTG (micro USB) port on the C2

We will check a feasibility of auto-mounting the external USB CD/DVD driver.
