Odroid c2 and 3.5 inch screen

Unread post by Cylarcy » Sat Jun 02, 2018 6:24 am

Hello

I purchased both the odroid c2 and the 3.5 inch touch screen.

I am using ubuntu mate but when i am on the desktop and i open something such as to change the background i cant see the whole window. Is this regular because of resolution?

The are button on the bottom of the new window i cant reach such as submit, apply etc

Thank you in advance

Yes, the LCD display is 480x320. Many dialogs in MATE are larger than this so they take up more space than can be displayed.

[edit]
You may be able to adjust some MATE settings to reduce the size of fonts and borders. This may allow more of some dialogs to be displayed.

You can also move the window without dragging it by the title bar. Simply hold ALT and click and drag anywhere in the window and it will move the whole window.

I always had to run a autohotkey script in Windows to add this functionality, once you get used to it there is no going back.

I haven't used this but it does the same thing.

This is what I always used.

With this script (I don't know if this works in Windows 10)

No problem, with autohotkey the scripts can actually be compiled to run standalone. It is such a useful bit of kit.

Its worth mentioning that I wrote an experimental program that mirrors the framebuffer to the LCD display. It also does hardware scaling so you could for example have a 800x600 desktop scaled down to the 480x320 resolution of the display. This means that large dialogs are fully visible. This program is discussed in more detail somewhere in a forum thread here, but I do not recall where.
