heartbeat LED to GPIOX_BIT11

Unread postby roland_h » Tue May 15, 2018 4:01 pm

In a topic from 2016 I found a solution to move the heartbeat LED to GPIOX_BIT11 with the following command an the device tree compiler.
viewtopic.php?t=22525&p=187142
sudo fdtput /boot/meson64_odroidc2.dtb /gpio_leds/heartbeat gpios 18 103 0

This worked great for me.

But recently I made a clean installation and discovered (possibly because of the updated kernel) the group and / or port numbers are changed.
Does anybody knows which group and or port numbers I should use to move the heartbeat LED to GPIOX_BIT11.

In meson64_odroidc2.dtb I found the following settings wihich I think refer to the group settings.

banks@c11080b0 {
reg = <0x0 0xc88344b0 0x0 0x28 0x0 0xc88344e8 0x0 0x14 0x0 0xc8834120 0x0 0x14 0x0 0xc8834430 0x0 0x40>;
reg-names = "mux", "pull", "pull-enable", "gpio";
gpio-controller;
#gpio-cells = <0x2>;
linux,phandle = <0x13>;
phandle = <0x13>;
};

ao-bank@c1108030 {
reg = <0x0 0xc8100014 0x0 0x8 0x0 0xc810002c 0x0 0x4 0x0 0xc8100024 0x0 0x8>;
reg-names = "mux", "pull", "gpio";
gpio-controller;
#gpio-cells = <0x2>;
linux,phandle = <0x25>;
phandle = <0x25>;
};

What's your current kernel version running?

@roland_h is using Volumio's kernel, which was pulled from the Hardkernel git repo on April 12th 2018, so it is the current version 3.14.79 with the latest commits.

Great news,
Yesterday I found the solution:
18 changed to 19
So the correct code for moving the heartbeat led to GPIOX_BIT11 has become:
sudo fdtput /boot/meson64_odroidc2.dtb /gpio_leds/heartbeat gpios 19 103 0

Thanks a lot!

Glad to hear you found a solution.
We need to check why 19 should be used instead of 18.

I can confirm this.
Also that the original blue:heartbeat gpio pin group (default from the DT) changed from 0x24 to 0x25 when I upgraded the kernel a month ago.
