dear friends

I am cloning this repository git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/hardkernel/linux.git -b odroidxu4-4.14.y whit ubuntu 18.04, i am trying to change linux boot logo with these commands:

$ cd linux
$ make odroidxu4_defconfig
$ make -j 8 zImage dtbs modules
$ sudo cp arch/arm/boot/zImage arch/arm/boot/dts/*.dtb /media/boot
$ sudo make modules_install
$ sudo make firmware_install
$ sudo make headers_install INSTALL_HDR_PATH=/usr
$ kver=`make kernelrelease`
$ sudo cp .config /boot/config-${kver}
$ cd /boot

and when i run this command

$ sudo update-initramfs -c -k ${kver}

appears this error:

Code: Select all

root@odroid:/boot# update-initramfs -c -k ${kver}
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-4.14.37+
/sbin/ldconfig.real: Warning: ignoring configuration file that cannot be opened: /etc/ld.so.conf.d/arm-linux-gnueabihf_EGL.conf: No such file or directory
I finish with the following commands but the image does not appear

$ sudo mkimage -A arm -O linux -T ramdisk -a 0x0 -e 0x0 -n initrd.img-${kver} -d initrd.img-${kver} uInitrd-${kver}
$ sudo cp uInitrd-${kver} /media/boot/uInitrd

Are you cross compiling?

I am changing the boot logo of ubuntu 18.04, these steps work very well with ubuntu 16.04, but with the new version of ubuntu this warning comes out and it is not configured, I would like you to help me.

I base myself on this manual https://developer.ridgerun.com/wiki/ind ... _boot_logo, and the repository from which I am downloading the kernel is this git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/ hardkernel / linux.git -b odroidxu4-4.14.y

I mean are you compiling the kernel on the device or on your PC?
