Changing Jumbo Frames ?

Post by rockla »

Anyone got any solution to change enable jumbo frames currently the MTU does not goes above 1500

Code: Select all

root@odroid64:~# ip link set down eth0; ip link set eth0 mtu 6975; ip link set up eth0;
RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument
root@odroid64:~# ip link | grep mtu
1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 4096 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN mode DEFAULT group default
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
Would really help in Samba Performance

It is not possible.
The MTU size was limited by the S905 SoC hardware design.
