Problems updating Release for Android

Unread post by KTdroid » Tue Jan 10, 2017 11:01 pm

Hello there,

about 6 months ago I switched my C1 to a C2 and since then it is doing a good job.

Now recently i wanted to update the Software of the C2 and I ran into a few problems.

My ODROID C2 has Android 5.1.1 installed and the build is _master-227 (Release 1.5)
I know its a pretty old version but better updating late than never, right?

I tried updating via ODROID Utility but whether im using the Official Server or the Mirror it does not work.
It finds a new update and proceeds to download it but then brings up the error that the package file seems to be corrupted.

Then i tried to manually install the update but that does not work either. It does not find the update package if its on a local server.
So i downloaded the updatefile to the ODROID and tried to install it using "Package install from storage" but i cannot select it.

I am using a WiFi connection but downloading the File from my file server works without issue.

Am I doing something wrong?
Do I have to update slowly to each and every version? (1.5 -> 1.6 -> 1.7 ...)
I dont have the USB-serial kit to use fastboot and I would prefer not to wipe the device

Best Regards,
KTdroid

Corrupted C2 Odroid updatepackage.

I have a brand new ODROID C2 here and when I attempt to get updates using the following process they are corrupted:

ODROID Utility
Allow superuser
Check Online Update
New update package is found, download

either the download ends with a message that it is corrupted
or
package install from storage
Select 'downloading new update package'

Error message "The package file seems to be corrupted, Please select another package file"

I just downloaded another corrupted update.
Trying again, but a 4 hour download is discouraging.

We tried to update from Korea server as well as US server. Both are working well now.

Every master I download and try and update from the Odroid utility, displays a message "The package file seems to be corrupted"

Please can you fix this I am trying to update my C2 to 6.0.1 Android.

If your C2's android version is still 5.1.1, you should reinstall the C2 to 6.0.1 before update.
Or you can checks the update package file via the md5sum command on the linux. :)

I have same problem, its called update.. maybe its missleading could existing installation could be really upgraded? or its only for clean install? If its only for clean install its the shame, bad support :(

@ruthan, Sorry for very late reply. :(

the Update not means clean install. that just about some bug fix or add new features as like you know :)

Some update packages can be corrupted during download or our mistakes. :(

We always try to clean package upload and hope it works!

Again, sorry about IT.
