I've made a community build with the recent LE alpha for Odroid C2. Kernel is build as 64bit with 32bit Userspace. It means you can use 32bit armhf packages.

Special thanks go to @peakock aka @peak3d for implementing the great inputstream plugin that makes DRM work with kodi

DISCLAIMER: This is a community build of LibreELEC. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Tar upgrade from aarch64 might work use the following steps:
Code: Select all
touch /storage/.update/.nocompat

Then copy the tar into /storage/.update/ and reboot
After everthing is updated you need to remove all the binary addons and reinstall those from the repo.
Beware that kodi caches zips in /storage/.kodi/addons/packages. Those have to be removed too.

If you are updating from one of my previous builds you just need to put the tar in /storage/.update/

Hi
i'm trying to compile your LE-fork but can't get past "opengl-meson-gxbb-r6p1-01rel0-armhf" because the file ist not found at http://sources.openelec.tv/devel/.
It is only available as aarch64 there. Any idea how to fix this?
thanks

Oh sorry I forgot to mention the armhf port is not uploaded to the source directory in LE yet for opengl meson. I've repacked mdrjr 32bit libs in his git and used a local version.

I need to ask @chewitt to upload it. But because of thanksgiving I won't borther them today

thank you very much, sky go seems to be working alright except playback is choppy... but thats another topic.
I had to revert back though because CEC was broken, did you change anything in your LE build regarding CEC?
Maybe I should just try a clean install (was upgrading).

No I didn't change anything regarding cec. I'm not sure upgrading would work. You can check the sources it's just 2 small commits ahead of master. Since its experimental it's possible things breaks. Regarding playback: Dunno about SkyGo but some widevine policies require decoding through CPU.

RB, can the img.gz file be Hosted somewhere else like Mega pls ?

I'm having consecutive failures downloading from whatever cloud service you are using with Chrome.
Tried Firefox - still getting to 60MB - 80MB and failing to download.

I did a clean install tor try this out but CEC settings is greyed out.
I think there is no libcec in this build.

Nice catch @Pienoet. In fact the patche are only applied for aarch64 but we build for arm. Thanks for pointing it out and very embarrassing for me the CEC guy.

I'm gonna update the commit soon although soon libcec 4 will be used and the patches are merged upstream.

Theoretically HD?

This would be the thing that causes me to use LE over Android...well that and I just got the HiFi Shield 2 today.

@rooted afaik its not limited. libwidevine is used so if Chrome can play inputstream can be used. Currently there is only inputstream.mpd for mpeg dash in Amazon and inputstream.smoothstream for SkyGo and a few other german streaming services. But Amazon recently changed the policy to allow widevine only be SW decoded with CPU. But they are also trying to push there own devices to serve advertisement.

HifiShield2 support is coming very soon. @kwiboo is working on it.

Thanks Raybuntu, I will have to check if Netflix plays full HD in the browser. I haven't really watched it that way, always use the PS3 or Roku for HD and the C2 for SD.

@Lightson: There is a tar included now. I'm though not sure it will work to upgrade from aarch64 to this build. It's always wise to make backups.

Raybuntu, you made my day!! Thank you so much for starting this project. Unfortunately you right with the tar. There's no way to update directly because of the AArch64. But nevertheless, it's a great step in using Amazon V at Kodi 7.9 Odroid C2. I just have to buy another emmc card to set up another system with your os.

Thx again!!!!!!

Just some pointers about upgrading and addons. I've backuped my whole storage partition but I had trouble with getting binary addons to work. You need to uninstall those and remove the temp. zip files from .kodi/addons/packages/ before you install them from repo.

I have the same issue. It is probably related to git master. Recently some lirc patches were merged. Expect same issues with 009.

Maybe I'll change building alpha builds to avoid too much issues.

Update: Tomorrow I'll post a build based on 008.

While I'm still building 008 I found a workaround:

You need to disable the systemd jobs for eventlircd and lircd@:
Code: Select all
cd /storage/.config/system.d/
touch eventlircd.service lircd@.service

Just create the file /storage/.config/system.d/lircd.service with following input:
Code: Select all
[Unit]
Description=Lirc

[Service]
ExecStartPre=/bin/mkdir -p /run/lirc
ExecStartPre=/bin/touch /storage/.config/lirc_options.conf
ExecStart=/usr/sbin/lircd --driver=default --device=/dev/lirc0 --output=/run/lirc/lircd --pidfile=/run/lirc/lircd-lirc0.pid -O /storage/.config/lirc_options.conf /storage/.config/lircd.conf
ExecStopPost=/bin/rm -fR /run/lirc
TimeoutStopSec=1
RemainAfterExit=yes

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

then run
Code: Select all
systemctl enable lircd.service

You will have pure mceusb and no more devinput. Also the disable/enable in LE settings won't work anymore.

Great work! But I can't get it to work! Every time I try to install the widevine I get aarch64 not supportet.

I downloaded myself the widevine and the install works but I can't play skygo I get error loading widevine.

Can you help me how to install correctly? I updated libreelec with your tar.

Great thing!

But i've difficulties to get it working. I've made a fresh install, but when i try a stream on amazon it tells me:

Code: Select all
ERROR: AddOnLog: InputStream MPEG DASH: Unable to load widevine shared library (/storage/.kodi/cdm/libwidevinecdm.so)

But the lib is in fact there:

Code: Select all
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root            54 Nov 26 13:23 libssd_wv.so -> /storage/.kodi/addons/inputstream.mpd/lib/libssd_wv.so
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root       5122508 Nov 26 12:36 libwidevinecdm.so
drwxr-xr-x    3 root     root          1024 Nov 26 12:54 widevine

What's wrong?

Not sure if 'file' is available but if so see if the library matches the architecture.

There must be something wrong indeed. Did you install the inputstream plugin fresh from repo? what image did you use?

I have the same image running for a week and streaming Amazon.

Do not copy some backup from an .kodi folder with addons. You must delete all the old binary addons and reinstall those from the new armhf based repo. There is also a cached .zip file.

Hmm, with the original v7.90.008 ALPHA I got my MCE to work, with yours not - I tried the whole afternoon...always double clicks, no chance to change the config...

While I'm still building 008 I found a workaround:

You need to disable the systemd jobs for eventlircd and lircd@:
Code: Select all
cd /storage/.config/system.d/
touch eventlircd.service lircd@.service

Just create the file /storage/.config/system.d/lircd.service with following input:
Code: Select all
[Unit]
Description=Lirc

[Service]
ExecStartPre=/bin/mkdir -p /run/lirc
ExecStartPre=/bin/touch /storage/.config/lirc_options.conf
ExecStart=/usr/sbin/lircd --driver=default --device=/dev/lirc0 --output=/run/lirc/lircd --pidfile=/run/lirc/lircd-lirc0.pid -O /storage/.config/lirc_options.conf /storage/.config/lircd.conf
ExecStopPost=/bin/rm -fR /run/lirc
TimeoutStopSec=1
RemainAfterExit=yes

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

then run
Code: Select all
systemctl enable lircd.service

You will have pure mceusb and no more devinput. Also the disable/enable in LE settings won't work anymore.

works perfect, thanks!!

You might want to stick with it even if I posted alpha 008 builds. The next official alpha will require this "workaround".

New build up: LibreELEC-Odroid_C2.arm-8.0-rb-008b
This build introduces Docker support.

Hi Raybuntu, thx again! You done a brilliant job!! Ganz herzlichen Dank!!
Just one question still remains. The resolution in the sky and amazon addon is really sad (960x540). Perhaps you've got a hint?

I have 1080p in Amazon. In inputstream.mpd addon setting I've set: stream selection to manual.
I have no sky but probably there will be an equivalent setting.
Otherwise try using another amazon addon.

Raybuntu, that's the solution! Everythink works fine now.

Still there is just one question remaining. In the Millhouse Odriod C2 Build, I'd used before, there was no buffering.....now it's always shown.....did I somethink wrong? May be, I forgot to change some settings?

Never heard of a Millhouse C2 build you probably mean RPi. Anyway, in @peak3d Amazon addon you can set the bandwidth in addon settings. I've only seen this using Wifi. I'm now using a better wifi stick with 2 antennas and I see no buffering.

With this version you are capable to listen ac3 5.1 from the Amazon streaming?

Puuuh good question. I can select various 5.1 audiostreams but I have no AV receiver to verify.
