Very nice, I can't wait to give this a try.

Your previous Android TV for XU3 was the only option that allowed my CEC to work, which made it the only media consumption option for myself.

But ATV version does not have a Setup Wizard. Are you checked "format userdata" when updating ?

I definitely did, I checked all 4 boxes.

Where can I manually extract the update.zip to get the update to apply again? I mean by manually mounting the eMMC externally which partition and where?

You can create selfinstall sd2eemc with this image
http://oph.mdrjr.net/voodik/5422/ODROID ... 010.img.7z
and before connecting it to odroid replace on it system.img and zimage-dtb from update.zip

I did and it works.

Unfortunately Netflix crashes and Google Movies isn't working either, says unsupported. I get fairly bad audio in YouTube app but sound is perfectly fine in KODI. Casting from YouTube app on Android phone to YouTube TV app is not working. Settings crash upon selecting certain features.

Also fan settings in odroid app will not stick, reset upon each reboot.

CEC is working. Android TV remote app works.

Popped the eMMC out of XU4 and placed in XU3, everything working the same as XU4..very good.

All in all definitely an alpha release, still very much appreciated.

Hi voodik,

the ATV version works! But it seems that some apps are not opened in ATV mode or at least in tablet mode. For example opens the Google Music app in the standard phonce layout, so there is no navigation with a remote possible. The Google Chrome Browser opens as well in phone mode.

Furthermore I hear after a while of gameplay or youtube some strange sounds - they do not stop and finally you can't hear any details expect of a rustle.

Thanks!
Jens

Voodik,

First off thank you for your work, I tried to update from the updater app formatting data and resulted in not bootable. Then i tried using the self install img from cm13 build with the system.img from this build after the process is "done" i get a boot loop where my xu4 turns on with solid blue then several double blinks then restarts repeating the same in an infinite loop. Do you have any other recommendations?

Thanks

*update* Formatted SD Card Loaded the CM13 image to get base OS then used the updater to get to cm14 atv. Works great other than PiP, the video feed when watching from HDhomerun input source seems to be skewed off position. Also what keyboard button(s)= "Home button" :D

p.s. is there a way to get deinterlacing on non-progressive channels.

Hi Voodik

I would like to confirm the proper procedure for installation of CM 14.0 ATV. Currently I have installed CM 12.1 ATV. Can I just upgrade it to CM 13.0 and then to CM 14.0 ATV or I have to start from scratch - from installation of Android 4.4 from Hardkernel then CM 13.0 and then CM 14.0 ATV? Second question is when do I have to format used data in upgrade?

Thanks again for you great work.

Don't update to cm-13.0 or cm-14.x from cm-12.1.
create cm-14.0 selfinstall sd or sdemmc via this images.

Code: Select all

http://oph.mdrjr.net/voodik/5422/ODROID-XU3/Android/CM-14.0/Alpha-0.1_10.10.16/
Then after openning root access just update to 14.1 or ATV via Odroid updater.

Hello everyone,

whats the correct procedure to update this room ?

Right now,
I'm installing "CM-14.0/Alpha-0.1_10.10.16/" then upgrading accordingly with update zip above. So far, I tried checking the 1st box, first and second and all boxes. The result is the same, no Ethernet.
I couldn't find out the problem.

Please, can someone help me ?

Can you try create selfinstall sd card via this images

Code: Select all

http://oph.mdrjr.net/voodik/5422/ODROID-XU3/Android/CM-14.1/Alpha-0.3_29.11.16/
Then on prepared sd card replace zImage-dtb and system.img files from ATV version of update.zip

Code: Select all

http://oph.mdrjr.net/voodik/5422/ODROID-XU3/Android/CM-14.0-ATV/Alpha-0.1_20.10.16/update.zip
P.S.
Just checked on this method on XU-4 with 16GB Sdcard without EMMC, ewerything is ok.

Loving your work on this build. Thank you :D

I'd love to be able to remove the blue flashing light (I know you can on the latest build for the C2 within the Odroid Utility) what are the chances?

Also I want to add Bluetooth and Wifi, can you please give me a easy tutorial on how I enable both of these? Cheers.

When you do expect the next build to be released? Keep up the sterling work it's very much appreciated

I`m using at the moment the Build too. I have only 1 issue that wireless is disconnecting and later needs couple of minutes to connect back to the Wireless router. I`m using the wireless Module which is specified as default in the build.prop. If I running Kodi and the wireless gets disconnect and Kodi freezes. Its a bit annoying... Anyone seeing the same issue ?

Add this to build.prop

Many thanks to voodik,

I just flashed the image everything works fine so far.
The only question I have, is it possible to use more than one physical keyboard layout?
I didn't find the possibility to add further layouts. I can just select only one language.

Hi, i'm not able to get the SD version working on a XU4.
The problem is that it starts but the HDMI connected screen remains black with no signal.
I know that on the first run the screen become active only after some (long) time (as for other distros) but i've waited for an hour and a half with no signal, so I reflashed it again and now it's another hour that i'm waiting with no success.

The HDMI cable and the monitor are fine (i've also tried another cable), they work perfectly with all the other distro i tried: android 4/5/6 and a lot of linux distros even with the mainline kernel.

How i can get it working?
Thanks

I can confirm that Ethernet doesn't work. I patched the build.prop file manually on linux PC with proper wifi chipset which I have. So I use wifi. I've used the SD image.

norx wrote:Hi, i'm not able to get the SD version working on a XU4.

Thanks
Ok sorry, it finnaly starts: after 2 hours of waiting I simply restarted the device and it just worked.
Now another question: there's a decent browser to use in Android TV? the lineage browser is unusable with the remote, a mouse is needed and there is no history/address bar

Yes but only use Notepad++ or your line endings will get mangled and the device won't boot.

It should exist under /system directory.

The /system/build.prop file can't be accessed on a Windows PC.
I hope Voodik will help you since I have no idea how to edit it without any network connection.

Is there any built-in file browser in LineageOS 14.1?
If yes, navigate the /system directory to find the build.prop file.

usualy yes on the other cm, but on this one it's kind of blocked or you can't go further and can't search for system build.prop

You have to mount /system rw.

You might need to remount the filesystem to have a write permission.
If you can access a terminal console, try mount -o remount,rw / and edit the file.

Solution How to enable ethernet without internet or third party app.

1. Connect USB keyboard mouse.
2. Enable root access from Developer options
3. Enable Local terminal from Developer options
4. Open Terminal app from Apps
5. type su hit enter and allow Terminal app to have root access.
6. then type in terminal

Code: Select all

bash
sysrw
echo "ro.disable.ethernet=0" >> /system/build.prop
reboot
Cheers

Not only bash shell :) we have a nano text editor in LineageOS builds.
I also added some aliases to default shell.

Code: Select all

alias ll='ls -AlhZ'
alias sysro='mount -o remount,ro /system'
alias sysrw='mount -o remount,rw /system'

'nano' editor is very useful for who doesn't like 'vi' editor. :)
