Is there a way to install AceStream on Ubuntu (Odroid C2)?

without sources to build the program on the C2, no.
They only have i386 and amd64 packages. None of which work on the ODROID C2.
Donate to support my work on the ODROID GameStation Turbo Image for U2/U3 XU3/XU4 X2 X C1 as well as many other releases.
Check out the Games and Emulators section to find some of my work or check the files in my repository to find the software i build for ODROIDs.

Thank you for your answer!
Do you mind nobody is interested in to build the program on the C2?

I have found just the links:

https://m.reddit.com/r/Addons4Kodi/comm ... pberry_pi/

Maybe Plexus can help in this case?

nope, won't work, at least not on the C2. These are armhf binaries which won't work on the C2. They probably would work on any other ODROID, but on the C2 they do not work.

Hi,

I found acestream player sources:
https://bitbucket.org/AceStream/acestreamplayer

It's hard to build because there are lot of dependencies (vlc is also built). I have tried without succes...

Could anyone try?

Bad news...

Finally I build the acestreamplayer... but acestreamengine is needed to play streams. I could not find the source code anywhere, impossible.

Have you used the Quasar Kodi plugin? It does the same thing only in Kodi.

Hi rooted,

I think is not exactly the same... acestream is to play live streams using a p2p network and with quasar you can play torrent multimedia files.

Acestream does play torrent files, I don't know of the other p2p method.

torrent is a p2p network..
there are other p2p addons for Kodi such as popcorn time.
Still I wouldn't recommend them since in some countries this is illegal.

Yes I agree about legality and I'm not one to help someone break the law, just throwing the information out there.

Hi, there some news about this topic http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-sup ... 5x-devices.
So I think now that is possible to have acestream on ubuntu.
The only thing is that I could't figure how to install this on kodi in ubuntu 16.04

In the Kingul repo git we have a arm64 acestream package https://github.com/viorel-m/kingul-repo ... m64.tar.gz , i have been messing around with this two packages and plexus, somehow i managed to put acestream working in ubuntu, messed a little more and broke all thing :D . Tried again but never managed to put acestream working with ubuntu and plexus. Maybe someone with a fresh mind could help!

Here we go,
sources
https://twistedlinux.wordpress.com/2016 ... erry-pi-2/

Download the file from here https://github.com/viorel-m/kingul-repo ... m64.tar.gz

make a directory for example:

mkdir -p /test_acestream

extract your download file to the /home/youruser/test_acestream

cd /home/youruser/test_acestream/acestream

sudo chmod +x androidfs/system/data/data/org.acestream.engine/files/python/bin/*
sudo chmod +x androidfs/system/bin/*

sudo chmod +x start_acestream.sh
sudo chmod +x stop_acestream.sh

to start acestream engine
from the /home/youruser/test_acestream/acestream

sudo ./start_acestream.sh --client-console --live-cache-type memory --live-cache-size 20971520 --live-buffer 60

to stop acestream engine

sudo ./stop_acestream.sh

we can have an autostart file but for me I don't think a process should be working on the background if we are not using it.

To start and stop with plexus do the same as above but extract your tarfile to /home/youruser/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/program.plexus

Then add kodi to your sudoers file Type “sudo vi sudo” to edit the sudoers file. Then add the following two lines:
kodi ALL= NOPASSWD: /bin/sh /home/youruser/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/program.plexus/acestream/start_acestream.sh –client-console
kodi ALL= NOPASSWD: /bin/sh /home/youruser/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/program.plexus/acestream/stop_acestream.sh

Then edit /home/youruser/.kodi/addons/program.plexus/resources/plexus/acecore.py and find the following code:
if “arm” in os.uname()[4]:
try:
command = [“sh”,os.path.join(pastaperfil,”acestream”,”start_acestream.sh”),”–client-console”]
to
if “aarch64” in os.uname()[4]:
try:
command = [“sudo”,os.path.join(pastaperfil,”acestream”,”start_acestream.sh”),”–client-console”]

and the other line

if “arm” in os.uname()[4]:
os.system(“sh “+os.path.join(pastaperfil,”acestream”,”stop_acestream.sh”))
change to

if “aarch64” in os.uname()[4]:
os.system(“sudo “+os.path.join(pastaperfil,”acestream”,”stop_acestream.sh”))

save and is done

update to acestream-aml-3.1.19 for smoother play

download http://src.alexelec.in.ua/acestream-aml-3.1.19.tar.xz untar.
copy the contnt from usr/config/acestream to your /home/yourhomedir/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/program.plexus/acestream/androidfs and replace all files.
It makes it work much better.

A lot of streams with aml hardware acceleration gives black screen with sound, we can fix this disabling hardware acceleration, the problem is that with it I get video tearing, even when I have selected "Adjust display refresh rate". Does anyone know how to make kodi run without tearing with the hardware acceleration disable?

Could the problem be related to this kodi error "ERROR: GLES: Vertical Blank Syncing unsupported"

unfortunately, doesn't seem to work with my ubuntu install. Did you set the download path on Plexus?

Password: libreelec
cd /storage
curl -LO https://archive.org/download/AcestreamS905/Acestream_S905.tgz
tar xopf Acestream_S905.tgz
rm -f Acestream_S905.tgz
reboot
This is working for me on LibreElec kodi krypton

I have made a new acestream build with 3.1.28 engine.
It has a webui working from the work of Dorik1972 https://translate.googleusercontent.com ... ry69882157

For use this acestream we have to install systemd-nspawn that is in the systemd-container pakage

sudo apt-get install systemd-container

In my acestream we have to edit acestream/acestream-user.conf in order to acess the webui

The cache is made in the disk at acestream/androidfs/storage/.ACEStream/.acestream_cache

to start from your acestream directory ./start_acestream.sh
to stop ./stop_acestream.sh

download acestream link https://www.dropbox.com/s/a1fxs7q2evj6h ... 8.zip?dl=0

I have a problem to make acestream work with Plexus (kodi 17.6) on Ubuntu 18.04. I installed a different Acestream version than dante6193 because Kingul github repo is dead. I then downloaded the 3.1.19 version and replaced files in userdata/addons/program.plexus/acestream folder. Changed the acecore.py file from "arm" to "aarch64" and amended sudoers file. When I put any torrent link through plexus I get a window with "Starting acestream engine" but then the 40 sec clock runs down and error "torrent not available or invalid". To me it looks like acestream engine is not actually starting. The torrent is good, because on my RPi3 the same link via plexus works no problem. Here is my acestream folder in userdata/addon_data/program.plexus

[androidfs]
acestream.start
acestream-user.conf
autostart.sh
parameters.txt
start_acestream.sh
stop_acestream.sh

I will gladly provide more info on my setup to try sort this out.
