[GUIDE] Zod Engine (Z Clone)

Unread postby meveric » Sat Jul 06, 2013 9:21 pm

Hello, this is a very nice copy of the old game Z.
Which is quite a nice strategy game.
This version offers different resolutions, fullscreen and multiplayer over LAN/Internet.

The Game runs as it is, no extra files needed :)

Same as always, extract the file, run the script and it should work
Code: Select all
unzip zod.zip
bash build_zod.sh

Please note: creating the .deb file in the end takes like forever and it might seem to you it stoped working, but that's not true. It just takes very very very long. Plan with at least 15-30mins depending on the speed of your SDCard or whatever you use.

It can also be installed from my repositories either from jessie/main or stretch/main package list, both for armhf and arm64 via:
Code: Select all
apt-get install zod-engine-odroid

i tryed this but it did not work right

first this
Code: Select all
make -C ./zod_launcher_src/
make[1]: Entering directory '/root/sources/zod_engine/zod_launcher_src'
g++ -g -o zod_launcher *.cpp `wx-config --cppflags` `wx-config --libs`
/bin/sh: 1: wx-config: not found
/bin/sh: 1: wx-config: not found
In file included from zod_launcherApp.cpp:10:0:
zod_launcherApp.h:18:20: fatal error: wx/wx.h: No such file or directory
  #include <wx/wx.h>
                    ^
compilation terminated.
In file included from zod_launcherFrm.cpp:11:0:
zod_launcherFrm.h:19:20: fatal error: wx/wx.h: No such file or directory
  #include <wx/wx.h>
                    ^
compilation terminated.
makefile:2: recipe for target 'default' failed
make[1]: *** [default] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/root/sources/zod_engine/zod_launcher_src'
makefile:3: recipe for target 'all' failed
make: *** [all] Error 2

in the middle was the building code for the engine, that seemed like it worked

then this
Code: Select all
zod_engine/p02_bb_orig28.map
zod_engine/zod_launcher
zod_engine/p02_bb_orig23.map
zod_engine/p04_bb_p04m02.map
Apply odorid.patch...
patching file zod_engine/makefile
patching file zod_engine/zod_launcher.desktop
Compiling zod_engine.. this won't take long
make -C ./zod_launcher_src/
make[1]: Entering directory '/root/sources/zod_engine/zod_launcher_src'
g++ -g -o zod_launcher *.cpp `wx-config --cppflags` `wx-config --libs`
/bin/sh: 1: wx-config: not found
/bin/sh: 1: wx-config: not found
In file included from zod_launcherApp.cpp:10:0:
zod_launcherApp.h:18:20: fatal error: wx/wx.h: No such file or directory
  #include <wx/wx.h>
                    ^
compilation terminated.
In file included from zod_launcherFrm.cpp:11:0:

make[1]: *** [default] Error 1

makefile:3: recipe for target 'all' failed
make: *** [all] Error 2
Do you want to install zod_engine? [y/N]: y

I've build some .deb packages for this and the game is now available on my Debian based images via
Code: Select all
apt-get install zod-engine-odroid
for Debian Jessie or Debian Stretch, both armhf and arm64
