Hi @voodik today I saw in ATV version that android tv launcher gave an error when updating in google play store, so I uninstalled it through ADB and now I'm trying to install a recent version apk but I always get this error:

Code: Select all

PS C:\Users\lozni\Downloads> adb install com.google.android.tvlauncher.apk
Performing Streamed Install
adb: failed to install com.google.android.tvlauncher.apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE: Existing package com.google.android.tvlauncher signatures do not match newer version; ignoring!]
PS C:\Users\lozni\Downloads> adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.tvlauncher
Failure [not installed for 0]
i am using now projectivity launcher but Any tip to reinstall it before doing selfinstall? :D thanks and regards
adb reboot recovery
apply update.zip

If it can't update via app store check free storage.

I also don't have problems with playstore. It's only with that app
Do you have updated the home launcher and do you get google ads like this?

After 10 Days fighting with Android graphics stack got some results :D

Fixed PiP (picture-in-picture) and Recents screen not showing video (black screen).
Fixed Hardware Encoders (tested with camera, scrcpy, screenrecorder) more cases ?

BTW I need some sleep )))
I will do little more tests and replace r21p0 version in next week.

N2 selfinstall/update available :!:
Check via Online Updater app.

Lot of gralloc and hwcomposer fixes.
Fully working Hardware Decoders/Encoders.
Fixed concurrent decoders. (when video paused in some app the decoders not releasing. So other app can't play another video. Now everything working)
Of course Lineage sources are updated with upstream(android-13.0.0_r67))

for N2L i will release updates in few days

Hey, maybe I am missing something, so I apologize if I am being dumb.

I flash the emmc drive using Etcher (on MacOS 12.6.8) and I can see the VFAT drive. I can see boot.ini and recovery.img files in the drive but nothing else.
Once I place that board on the Odroid-N2 using the ATV selfinstaller it will install the software, reboot and then just hang up on the HardKernel screen.

Is there something else I should be doing?
Thank you for your time.

I had to manually force resolution to 1080p after installation in boot.ini, config.ini.

Is there a way I can see this device on my mac still? Do I need to connect it another way other then my USB eMMC reader?
Sorry, a bit new to all this.

You should see them in the small vfat partition on the emmc, when connected via a reader.

Odroid does not have suspend. So it makes no sense.
If hpd enabled this can make HDMI phy wake up troubles.
if hpd disabled it does not make sense.

@voodik its possible add an option "force suspend with CEC" insteand shutdown.

Thanks and regards
Odroid does not have suspend. So it makes no sense.
If hpd enabled this can make HDMI phy wake up troubles.
if hpd disabled it does not make sense.
in ATV version i am using "sleep now" in powerkey definition.

I was referring to this:

Image
It just turn off HDMI phy in case when hpd enabled.
But device does not go to sleep because Odroid does not support sleep.
So in case if you Turn off TV is it matter for you when HDMI signal is active or no ?
There is no big difference in power consumption so what the deal of this kind sleep ?
Cons: when HDMI phy is waking up it can make Display initialization troubles.

p.s.
Powerkey definition option is from official Hardkernel Android, it doesn't work on my Builds, i will remove it from in next version.

My family usually leaves TV channels on (through tvheadend), so turning off the tv odroidN2 will automatically go to sleep mode and the tvheadend retransmission will stop.

I have been using it this way for a while but through a broadlink IR controller + alexa and display initialization work fine.

Today I was testing the hdmi cec option that's why my question about adding the sleep option.

This setting does not work on my builds. Put it to restart and check. Device is not restart, it go to "sleep"
In my builds short click Power action is sleep. So because of this you don't see difference.

I understand your case of sleep with tvheadend stream stop.
Anyway, Just checked source, when Force shutdown with CEC is not set the action is sleep.

I will check on TV is the device go to "sleep" and let you know.

Okay, figured out )) to wake up device via CEC from sleep you should set in env.ini suspend_hdmiphy to 0

Code: Select all

suspend_hdmiphy="0"
Because when device go to sleep and suspend HDMI phy framework can't get TV CEC physical address anymore.
Without TV CEC physical address android framework wont negotiate with TV, and keep device in sleep.

So, if you wan't sleep and wake up device by CEC
1. uncheck Force shutdown with CEC
2 set suspend_hdmiphy="0" in env.ini

Both options are keep across updates.

I updated to latest and everything seems fine except videos in browsers. Plex, STV and IPTV all work great. But for instance using Firefox to watch a video on say, anime sites, it won't load. I've downloaded a bunch of other browsers (except Edge) and none will play them. Chrome will sometimes. Embedded YouTube videos will play in the browsers. Everything worked fined until the last update. Is there a way to downgrade to the last version without losing my apps and data??
I do agree with loznic89 with the brightness and image quality being better.

I never used a browser on androidTV. I'm trying with chrome and it seems random. some reproduce others not like 4K.

downgrade without losing your configuration I think it's not possible but maybe someone in the post gives you some idea how to do a backup

You should see them in the small vfat partition on the emmc, when connected via a reader.

So I see it in the Disk Util, but it is not mountable.
-Can I only access it on Windows/Linux?
-Can I create the env.ini file before I do the software install?
-Does this need to be the 4Gb version of the N2?

1. It should also be accessible from Mac (it's a 32 MB partition in fat32 called VFAT) but I'm not an expert, I've never used Apple
2.Image
3. It is the same process in the 2gb and 4gb version

Note that the partition is visible after you boot once and it finishes the selfinstall. Show us what partitions you see on the emmc.

Guys, I need an advice. I'm using the ATV version with a CEC remote. Everything works, except I don't have a 'Home' button. I tried Button Mapper, but it doesn't read events from CEC. Any ideas how I can invoke "Home" from just the CEC remote? Now I use Back a lot, but it's tedious.

I don't remember what size it should have, but 32MB might be too small.

If the emmc boots to Android you can try to connect via adb (via the microusb port), from a computer And run:
adb shell
cd /odm
ls
vi boot.ini
vi env.ini

tried with several apps but failed to remap cec events. you can try with tvquickactions.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ickactions

finally I opted to use the bluetooth remote control of a mecool that works very well with the voodik fixes in miscelaneous settings

Tvquickactions is excellent and has ways to use ADB for button remapping and even inject keycodes but I don't think this is going help if the button isn't recognized.

*Edit*
Nope just tried it and CEC buttons are not recognized.

First, try to install official Android to make sure you don't have hardware problems.

Almost fixed browser video issue, just some low resolution videos not playing for now, trying to find the root cause.

This is Depending TV, in my case (Android TV) the TV used HOME key as own and don't send it by CEC. So when i click Home on remote my TV launcher go to home not the Odroid one.

Everything worked fined until the last update. Is there a way to downgrade to the last version without losing my apps and data??
I do agree with loznic89 with the brightness and image quality being better.
Almost fixed browser video issue, just some low resolution videos not playing for now, trying to find the root cause.
Okay, fixed.
Let me know which version(ATV/NO ATV) you use, and device. I will prepare test update for you.
