                  Hello Daniel
I may be walking on 2 different installation paths
Hope you can advise me into the right direction.
When i try to install your new recorder plugins kodi-pvr-hts and kodi-pvr-vuplus, i get an error saying: kodi-pvr-hts : Depends kodi-apt-pvr (= 5.10.3)
Before i tried to install these plugins i did an apt update and upgrade.
Yesterday i managed to install the pvr.hts.git and xbmc.git. I downloaded the libraries on to my laptop and with scp on to my Odroid M1.
Cmake and make worked without errors as well as copying the self-compiled plugins into the given directory by sledge42.
Btw i did the same with the nextpvr plugin.
Can you point me out into a direction or is it smarter to do a fresh install?
I want to be in sync with your development tree.
                  Regards Alwin

That's probably because I haven't build this plugins for arm64 yet, only for arm32 (armhf), the only PVR plugin you can install under Ubuntu is kodi-pvr-hts, I did that today, that one you are trying to install was from the original Ubuntu package servers and those are broken because of a missing kodi-api-pvr package

So sudo apt update && sudo apt install kodi-pvr-hts will at least give you that plugin

In the future you should check with apt policy if a package is available on my package server or Ubuntu package servers, you can install KODI 32bit version if you want more plugins for now, 64bit kodi-pvr-hts crashes when viewing EPG, 32bit kodi-pvr-hts not and you can watch NETFLIX with 32bit version

                    Code: Select all

                    sudo apt policy kodi-pvr-hts
                    [sudo] password for odroid:
                    kodi-pvr-hts:
                      Installed: 19.0.6-1~debian11
                      Candidate: 19.0.6-1~debian11
                      Version table:
                     *** 19.0.6-1~debian11 500
                            500 https://deb.areascout.at/Ubuntu20_04 ./ Packages
                            100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
                         4.4.20-1 500
                            500 http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports focal/universe arm64 Packages

As you can see from the example output, version 19.0.6 is from my package server, version 4.4.20 is the one from the Ubuntu repositories (KODI 18.6), btw. and Debian repositories are hosting (KODI 19.1) packages, so they are not really up-to-date

                    Regards,
                    Daniel

Can this in future also work on RK3568 Armbian Ubuntu Server 20.04, 4.19.219 kernel perhaps?
Installed librga2, librockchip-mpp1, libdrm, libdrm-common since they aren't present in Armbian Ubuntu Server images.
Tried on different rk3568 devices and It installed Kodi from OP instructions but then says can't create GUI when running 'kodi'?

Did you add my package server to Armbian ? It should work out of the box if they use same kernel like HK

KODI arm64 for M1 supports now this Hardware Accelerated codec types HEVC/H264/H263/MPEG1/MPEG2/MPEG4/VP8/VP9
The compatibility of the older mpeg2 codec is now much better

KODI arm32 aka (armhf) for M1 supports now also this Hardware Accelerated codec types HEVC/H264/H263/MPEG1/MPEG2/MPEG4/VP8/VP9
That was a tricky one, applying the new patches to arm32 FFmpeg just to find out that H264 is not working anymore, while it just works fine on arm64 ... took me a while to figure out why

To update usually do this from within your chroot environment:

                                    Code: Select all

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

Thank you both, that was a lot of tinker to start from zero with the ODROID-M1 and KODI 😅

                                      Can someone run
                                      sudo dpkg --get-selections > completePackage.txt and
                                      sudo dpkg-query -f '${binary:Package}\n' -W > completePackage2.txt
on the Odroid Ubuntu Server image before running AreaScout's script and after running it and upload the files to some file host or pastebin?
It would be very useful to compare with Armbian Ubuntu Server, which installed packages are missing compared to the Odroid image which has several extra packages installed by default.
