How to exit KIOSK Mode

Post by ssffzzxx »

Dear,
I have N2+ with Android 9.
Could you please help me with how to exit from the KIOSK MODE?
I turn on KIOSK Mode, and after I reboot, there is no menu and I have no idea how to make my Odroid normal as before.
Please pardon me for this newbie question.

Thanks in advance and Best Regards
Dian

Do you use a mouse or touch?
Try to swipe upside on the home screen and you can find odroid settings in apps drawer.

Thanks for your prompt response. It is so much appreciated.
I use a mouse with 34 inch led display monitor without touch screen.
I tried to drag my mouse from top to bottom, and from bottom to top, just like when I want to show the android menu, but nothing show up.. only the cursor.

I also set the PIN before entering the Android, but there is no field to enter the PIN. Only black screen with cursor in it.

I did not install other launchers.
Your photos are exactly the same as mine BEFORE I activate KIOSK mode. I could do that before.
But after I active KIOS MODE, and the odroid restarted, soon after restart it seems the odroid entering KIOSK MODE, and there is no menu or home which can provide me a menu to switch back to normal mode.
I will show you video on my next post..

Code: Select all

$ adb shell
# vi /odm/default.prop

Thanks..
can you give me a clue on how to do it?
is there a special keyboard button I need to press during the booting process? just like entering command prompt in windows.

I have Odroid HC1, is it possible if i take the sdcard and plug it in N2+ and boot using the LINUX from HC1 which is openmediavault..
thanks so much for helping me.

I just have N2+ , i was so happy and try all the setting until the KIOSK mode makes me so sad.

Did you connect your N2+ to your hot PC via micro-USB cable?
You had to enable the ADB function in the developer mode options.

Do you have android smart phone?
Try to connect your smart phone with window.
If it works, odroid n2 also works.

Welcome to new world. In the Petitboot, go "System configuration" and change the items in "Boot order" so eMMC "/dev/mmcblk0" is at top and AD "/dev/mmcblk1" is bottom. Back to the Petitboot screen will save the change. Please try and let me know how it works.

If you want to run Android and Ubuntu on the same ODROID-N2Plus, I highly recommend to use eMMC for Android and USB storage for Ubuntu. I am not sure what size of eMMC you have, but since Android does use non-standard partition layout Ubuntu can be affected if you are not clearly understand how to recover Android. If you use USB 3.0 USB storage, it would be ok to run Linux system. If you are not required to run high quality multimedia features, I'd recommend to try Ubuntu 21.10 which can be installed from the Petitboot.
